Hi all,

A couple of things I forgot to mention in the original thread...

1. Ever since I picked the car up the steering wheel vibrates at idle enough to notice it wobbling a bit. Do other owners have this? No vibration is detectable once on the move.

2. This isn't anything to do with the model but I thought I'd mention it here...the black plastic on the drivers door seems to have a faint pink stain to it. When I clean the inside it actually comes of on the cloth but it's still there despite the cockpit shine I use. (I only use Autoglym polishing cloth and Turtlewax cockpit shine so I don't think it's because I've used crappy products or anything) any ideas?

Thanks again in advance...

Yep the slight viration from the stearing wheel is a nifty reminder that you have a 2.4ltr 5cyl growly lump about a foot or so infront of you ;) ( I would imagine all Abarth owners feel this... )

as for the plastic not noticed that on the inside did when I first picked mine up on the outside, the plastic or rubber around the window with slight colour tinge a good clean got that off.

I ordered a new drivers' side sill moulding for my 5dr Stilo, and this came with a strong blue tint. When I put it on the car, it looked Navy! I got my dealer to order another and it came the same; i tried putting CarPlan Black Trim Wax on it, which worked, until you tried to clean it! The blue tint never came off in the cloth which suggested to me it was a problem with the colour mixing at the factory.

Try Simoniz Cockpit Cleaner (Matt Finish) ; it's in a silver aerosol with an orange label at the top. It's a fantastic cleaner! Or try using Halfords (I know I work there but it REALLY is good stuff) Advanced Car Wash - put a small, neat amount on a sponge, then rub the sponge on the tinted area; doing this a few times might get rid of it (it won't harm the plastic, in fact, it's an excellent plastic cleaner). Don't get it confiused with the Halfords Economy (aka Nielsen) Car Wash (the £4.99 for 5 litres) - it's $H!T£!!!!!!

Hope that helps.

Ref the pink stain on the plastic trim/dash, I had the same on my new vehicle. It took at least three wipe overs and washes of the interior, then a good polish with autoglym, bye bye pink stain.

I must say don't have a steering shudder on my Abarth.

I don't have the steering vibration either - only time I get a slight amount is when the tickover is very low due to high load on the engine ie. aircon running, plus cooling fan etc, even then its not bad.

This is what I should have typed... its there @ idle only slightly... not noticeable but there all the same I can feel the engine in my fingers... maybe this is a quirk of the manual??? dunno!

It might be a quirk of the manual I suppose ....Most of the Abarth owners on the Forum seem to have the auto/flappy paddle box - understandable considering the manual has only just become available. So, us manual owners will surely have foibles all of our own!!
