So last night was sitting behind a bus waiting for it to pull out, and then I heard this really loud skid wondering what was going on, then thump the a@?>e hole behind me skidding straight into the back of me.
However got out and had a look hardly anything, bit of paint transfer and scratches, seems as though he went under the back also.
The other car (Ford Sierra) both front lights smashed, front grill wrecked.(y) Got his details and claiming through his insurence so all cool.
But just really impressed with the toughness of the MW. :worship:

It's a strong workhorse for sure but have it looked over as modern cars are designed to crumple and what may appear to be no damage on the exterior can be buckled floor pans etc. Hope not but have it checked over behind the exterior panels

Admittedly the front lights and grill of a Sierra are no contest for the MW rear end:)

I think there's a ruling in Jamaica or somewhere where if someone smacks into your rear end then the culprit will be pillored on the village green and have their exposed rear end smacked by any passer by who feels the need.

Liberty and justice for all

Not unless it's gone so far as the chassis is bent ( not likely on a small shunt) but, for instance, the boot floor pan can often crease which makes it considerably weaker in the event of another blind plonker running into your invisible, stationary Multiwagon at a later date

I wouldn't trust an engineer from HIS insurance company. That sounds odd.
You have your own team check out your own vehicle not theirs

As Decks has suggested, I'd certainly take the spare out and closely examine the floor pan. Unlikely to need repairing but you might as well collect some compensation if it is creased.

The moving car invariably comes off worst in these shunts.

I remember once in London I was rear ended by a Jag late at night. He obviously took some damage as most of his lights went out :slayer: The car made for a getaway and I gave chase through the City but decided following it through red lights was not a clever move (not to mention there were 4 guys in the motor against just 2 in mine). We'd got his reg anyway, so I darted into a police station, jumped out and ran towards the entrance

....and was immediately confronted by police with automatic weapons  and asked to explain why I'd just entered a secure area holding IRA terror suspects (this is a few years back). I explained what had happened, walked with him to the rear of my car and suddenly realized there was no sign of damage at all

Some very funny looks were exchanged between the armed police and basically I was glad to be on my way :D

I guess one occasion you wish the mighty stilo wasn't quite as mighty:)

The rear of the MW does sit quite high when it's not loaded! Ya I would get it to a body shop to get it looked at properly just incase!

Defo gonna get it looked at now. The gutter to this is I've had it less than 2 months, and it's already been back to the dealer for a few niggles.(normal airbag lights), loose connection alternator. So when it goes to the body shop gonna loose it again for a while:(

Thats really bad luck!

Have you got it checked out yet?

Ive heard it so many times, people think its just a tiny bit of damage, when its really set off the crumple zones and has done more damage than first thought!

Hope its not too bad! :)
