Will get in here quick before Argonought appears like the shop keep from Mr Ben.

Fiat Care price for front discs & pad replacement is £135, Shop-4-Parts price for the discs & pads alone £120 (2.4 abarth). Well worth the extra £15 for time and hassle saved.

Thanks Lolita, but sorry,i meant parts only as I'm going to fit them myself,Les.

I'm sure I can get the parts only for less than £120,then save the money by fitting them myself.

Good luck! I think you're going to need it as the actual cost from shop4parts is actually £185 inc VAT if your car is the 1.9 JTD...

Don't forget, you'll need a piston wind back tool for the rears if you do it yourself (y)

Not doubting you Greggers, but the disc's & pads for the abarth were only £120 inc FF discount??

The discs are priced as single units, did you double the cost of the front and rear discs to account for it?

When I calculate it for the 2.4, I get £204 inc VAT but excluding the FF discount...

Brake Disc (x1) FRONT - 2.4 20v - Part Number: S4P143 - £37.72
Front Brake Pads (x4) - 2.4 20v - Part Number: S4P2103 - £30.56

You've got me doubting now that I'm looking at the right items?!

Nope you've got the right items, just not enough or all of them. :D

That's only one brake disc for the front, not two as you'd need although that's the right pads. You'll need the same sort of thing for the rear now as well. 2x brake disc (x1) rear and 1x rear brake pads (x4). (y)

:ROFLMAO: - Ah! I was giving the price for just replacing the front discs & pads, not the rears too!

Have a pop onto e-bay I bought front disks and pads complete for £52 these were for the jtd MW and fitted perfectly they were Girling parts you got nothing to loose, and as the job only takes an hour for the front, with regard to the back i've never had to change the disks but the pads are easy enough just make sure you have the tool ie: angle grinder spanner will do. and remember the passenger side is turned anticlockwise, hope this is helps.

I got a set of pads and discs for £100 fitted on an abarth but they're rubbish. better off going for uprated ones grooved discs and some fast roads pads, they don't affect your insurance.

They're the most important part of your car so your better off spending a bit more.

The brakes on my Abarth suck. The pads and discs on the front were put on just before I go the car and naturally, they put the cheapest they could get their hands on on there... I think that I have to put way too much pressure on the pedal to stop quickly. Tempted to change the discs and pads myself or at least the pads! :(

Greggers,
If you do, consider the Reddot discs and Fast Road pads. I went for 6 grooved discs which after now living with them for a while i really like. They take a while to bed in but when he do they work great. Have a search for my review thread if you haven't read it already.
This week i fitted matching rears so we'll see how things are when they bed in properly.(y)
