hi can anyone help i have just had two bottom arms fitted on my 1.9jtd and there is still play on the wheel when its jacked up also when i brake it looks like the wheel is juddering

Where is the play on the wheel?
If it's in horizontal plane and vertical plane then it could be wheel bearings/ wheel loose etc

If it's just in horizontal plane then it's more likely track rod end, steering rack worn etc

Look and see where the movement is when someone rocks the wheel or moves the steering

If you've just had the bottom wishbone replaced then there shouldn't be any play down there any more.

Is the wheel/ whole hub moving around the horizontal?

Is there play at the track rod end or steering rack end?

its moving horizontal there is no play on the track rod ends or steering rack i cant work out what it could be are the any bushes or bearings at the top of the strut

I'm guessing it's the steeering rack inner knuckle joint. When you move the wheel to and fro in a horizontal plane look at the rod that's emerging from the steering gaiter. Is the rod moving a lot with the wheel hub movement or is it staying still?

If it's moving with the hub then it may be new steering rack time

ok just checked the rack its solid no movment just lifted the bonnet and looked at the top of the struts on the nearside the ruber is flush on the offside there is about a half inch gap
