I recently replaced the dented rear nearside door frame of my Stilo with one I got cheap off Ebay which happened to be in the right colour. Which was nice! :) It was still a bit of a hassle switching over all the trim and fittings, the window glass etc. but when the new door was finally hung all seemed well so I sat in the back of the car with a celebratory glass of lemonade. Unfortunately, when i tried to get out, the door wouldn't open when I pulled the handle. (as if the child lock was on, which it wasn't) I got out the other side and found that the door opened easily from the outside, the central locking works fine. When I pull the inside handle with the door open I can hear a faint noise by the lock as if its doing something and thus connected to the lock but nothing moves in the visible part of the lock . I'm baffled! Its frustrating as a dented door that opened from the inside is probably better than an undented one that doesn't! Any ideas? Thanks.

By the way, my radio problem in my other thread started weeks ago so the two are definitely unrelated!

I had this problem, I found my door would sometimes open from the inside if not dead locked.

What had happened on my door was the cable that operated the lock mechanism from the inside handle had come unclipped and instead of the inner cable releasing the lock the sheaf was moving.

I hope that makes sense, the cable is like the type used on a bicycles brakes, outer sheaf with an inner cable, but the sheaf had come unclipped on mine so the whole thing was slack and moved rather than just the inner cable.
