Hi All, I'm looking for your assistance please.

I have recently purchased a Tuning Chip from Abrieb and due to the online installation instructions being in German and not featuring a Stilo diesel engine, I'm struggling. There are too many similar 3 spade euro connectors in the area detailed in the instructions.

Q. Has anyone installed an in-line chip in the engine bay before and if so, can you assist me please?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Dont bother, GSR at Watford do regular meets at their place courtesy of this Forum and at meets you can get a pro re-map and 2 rolling road sessions with a print-out to show the improvements. Comes with a guarantee too, use the Search function on remapping and you will see for yourself. (y)

it should plug into the common rail. There seems to be a few people on here dead against the tuning chip because of possible damage could anyone enlighten me as to what damage could be caused actual cases would be more helpful than hearsay

If these "chips" are so amazing, why wouldnt everyone have them? Il be interested to find out what happens to your engine if you try it

Think about it, this "chip" will make your engine run richer, putting more strain on other components. And think about what its doing to the computer system, the Stilo is known for its "issued" systems. Would you risk it? Is it worth it? And the reason there are no "real" cases is because we are all fairly intelligent (well enough not to try stupid eBay tuning chips!!) johnson550, why dont you try it?? Id love to hear the results!!

One I remember was the chip (or mod) that increased fuel pressure.

After a week or so you start getting fuel leaks from components which are simply not designed for the higher pressure (reported by at least two members)

I'm sure there are many different chips out there though which function on a different principal :chin:

Adam, I think you're getting confused between a proper tuning chip and a resister (as sold on eBay).

I understand the first can work quite well (since it does much the same as a remap - but not always :() but the latter as you say is a waste of space.
