I took my 05 3door Stilo for its 1st MOT and it failed on the offside headlight. Reason given its dipping to the wrong side. last year the offside headlight got broken so I replaced it from one off Fleabay, gen. fiat. wondered if I`ve been sold a LHD light. On the glass bit it has 011b then a left facing arrow below then 02B below that. further too the right its got 04HC below that 04HC and below that a right facing arrow, further over again under the E13 circle its got 9997 then under that 0689. Could a kind Soul please let me know if its the wrong one. Thanks in advance. John

You have a european light. Just buy one of those cheap stick on beam deflectors for european driving, from halfords or the like. Stick it on to cover the kick up part of the beam and it will be legal.
I had to replace one of my Xenons (over 600 pounds /light from Fiat) so I bought one from ebay germany and stuck a beam deflector on it. Passes MOT no problems and you dont know the difference when driving.

Hi John55, Thanks for the information. My MOT station did not like the idea as its only on one light they said there would be a difference in the two dipped light outputs.
Looks like I need a uk light, Thanks, John

Not illegal at all and they have to test it and are not allowed to fail it unless there is a valid reason. They should go back and read their testing guidelines as it specifically says it is legal to have european lights with beam deflectors.
