Hi, Does anyone know if the multiwagon stilo 2003 plate have the problem wit hthe rear caliper being stuck and requirin a special tool or not - i know the stilo hatchback does - but wht about the multiwagon.

cheers

All stilo's have the same rear disc size and that includes the abarth as well ..so you need a piston wind back tool that screws in on both the clockwise and anti clockwise rotation.. sure its not the hand brake cable sticking..:chin:

Everybody is going to slag me off for saying this but just use a piar of long nose pliers, cheap and easy, and turn the callipers in the same dirrection as the wheels turn when driving..

simple...
now i will await the return texts about you will damage bla bla bla..
:devil::devil::devil::devil:

If you can get away with it then best of luck (y)

.....just don't be surprised when you get a lot of "we told you so" posts when it seizes tight the next time you try to change the pads :p

Post on our site saying Ozmosis has done 60k on a set of back pads..if posters car last that long it will be time for the knackers yard for the car anyway..two sets of pads at 60K a time =120K I wonder how many stilo's will be around with that mileage..

I meant if the posters pads last 60K after fitting new ones and given the age of the car ..his car could be past its sell by date by that time ..nothing lasts forever..unfortunatly..now you got it..:idea:

but i didnt say i did 60k on them, thats why i was confused.

i've had the car 15 months now i think and ive done about 16k miles in it since. havent touched the brakes yet, and judging by the garage i bought it from, they hadnt changed them in the service when they said 'its just been serviced by our specialist' lol

so i would think theyve got a fair few miles on them. at 86k now i severley doubt that they havent been changed at some point

I stand corrected ..thought you said 60k on the pads..off to check the post again..:nerner:

Must be going nuts you didnt say 60k did you ..so who the hell did come on own up you lot:eek: anyway back to the original subject and that is its possible to do a piston wind back without the proper tool..

I replaced my pads at less than 40k (i had to) so reckon most people will change them something like 2 or 3 times if they intend hanging on to the car.

Still say the the proper tool is a good investment (y)
