Technical Door Latch Problem

Had a problem with my inner door handle not working yesterday (Great just as I enter MOT station!) After stripping out the door, I found that the cable had come out on the latch end. I re-fitted it and gave everything a good spray with WD-40 including the outer door handle guide. The mechanism must have stiffened up over time and the resistance eventually made the cable end pop out,as after I had done this everything was much better, so I would advise giving it a good squirt every now and then and you may avoid similar embarassment
