Hi everybody,
I have this strange problem for some time:
The gear shift gets real hard to move after some driving time in traffic.
You know when you but the stick to neutral - it goes like it's on a spring - in the middle position - ready for any gear next.
Mine just stays in the position between let's say first & second gear and if I want to go to third I have to adjust the exact right spot with one or two attempts.
Any ideas???

Thanks in advance

I had a broken gear linkage in mine a few months back, when i first i could push it across as though i was in 5th, or vice versa

Was still able to drive the car fine, just had to really concentrate when changing gear making sure it went in correctly (y)

Could be that

Did you fix the linkage...? I take great care when changing gear, it's fine with me, but if my dad takes the car just for an hour he'll bring mass destruction to the gearbox. May be it's not the linkage, because there is no problem when the car is cold. May be gearbox oil? What do you think?

i took great care with my gearbox to, but it still snapped. the garage said it was just a rubber part that keeps the gear change 'non slack' and guideable into the correct gear (y)

dont think it had much to do with the gearbox, was more like the gearstick (y)
