Dont know if anyone else has had this prob, but its only happened to me once and i cant understand why it should happen. I just turned the car on and for the some reason the mileage readout was flashing???

Any ideas??

None, is it still flashing or did it just do it and stop (ie when you turned the ignition off and back on again)? If it's only once and it hasn't done it for a while since I wouldn't get stressed over it. If your unhappy mention it to the service guy at your dealers.

Had the same thing once after picking the car up after they'd done some work to it. They just said turn it off and back on again which cleared it. It hasn't happened again since.

that seems to work for most error messages etc. just turn the ignition off and on.

Careful you lot - you're giving away the secrets of IT support professionals everywhere. The in-depth technical details of "switchitoffandbackonagain" should not become widespread as it would lead to economic meltdown!

Had the same problem (although I've not seen it for a while)

Just be glad its not running Windoze otherwise the SatNav would just be a continual blue screen or hourglass with the occasional request to open and close all of your windows. ;)

Just to be boring, the flashing display could indicate that the body computor has lost communication with one of the other systems at one time and the transfer rate of information via the can network is out of alignment so the whole system operates at different speeds, to rectify this the system has to be put into "Proxi-alignment" using the Fiat examiner system or turn off the ignition then on again(but thats too easy)..........Ned:D:D

at about 6000 miles until its next service interval I got a pop up here when starting saying the amount of miles remaining and the spanner icon.

wasnt that by chance you saw?

Thanks guys for all your input, and yeah it was a switch off turn on problem as after id parked and then went out again everythin was back to normal, i just put it down to the strange things that Fiats do, bit like the flashin light on the door that carrys on flashing after you've unlocked the car, thats happened a few time aswell.

I dont think it was the amount of miles left to service, was a bit strange tho cos it did it when i got to 14999, i thought maybe the car had reached its sell by date and was about to die on me!

Anyway its stopped now, thankyou all for your suggestions.

Had the problem once myself (though not really a problem). Switched off, Switch on, never happened since.

I'm sorry to disappoint you in thinking that the flashing mileage was due to Fiat's Supposed poor reliability for electronics.
Fiat's reliability issue is just that a rumour!

The flashing mileage is yet another reminder that you should have had your stylish italian car serviced or in my case, the Fiat Dealership to have reset the Service Due reminder mileage clock..

PANIC OVER FOLKS!

To resolve, just pop down to your local friendly Italian dealership and they'll be too happy to help in resetting it for you.
