Hello all,

last year when I bought my Stilo (1.9 JTD 5 door Dynamic 2002) I was so happy. It had everything that I expect from car. But now almost year later, easily but for sure I’m loosing nerves with my Stilo.
Every time when I sit in car I can discover some new failure. Last week I found that drivers window is not closing automatically when you hold button few second and release it. Instead of that I have to hold button until window is closed completely. It works normally when I want to open it (press button, hold 1 sec, release button, but window is going down until it is opened completely). Front passenger window is opening and closing normally.
Yesterday I found new piquancy from my Stilo. I tried to open back passengers window from drivers console and it start to wind down window but stoped after 5 cm even I was holding button. So I press it again and same happened. Window was stopped after 5 cm. Same behavior with closing, and same behavior on both back windows. Then I tried to open window from button on back door, it won’t operate at all. Just to outline that I didn’t blocked back windows, so I expect normal operations. In same time front windows are working OK (except drivers window and problem with closing described before). I tried also to open and close all windows with remote control on key - front windows work OK, but back again same, start to open and after 5 cm down stop.

I couldn't find anything similar on forum. Anybody had same problem?

Thanks in advance.

Over a period of time window sealing strips can attract a lot of gunge (normally green mould) which can put an enormous strain on the drive motors.

If you inspect and clean the seals (and maybe slides too) then most of your problems may go.

Sounds like your rear powered windows enable/disable control is preventing use of rear windows from rear controls and only permitting partial opening of the windows from the front control

If you haven't selected it then sounds like door node or poor door connections might be the reason for your window quirks

Would say, problem is somewhere there. First I will check what is happening with wires on drivers door console...

Hi,

it is pleasure to work with Fiat electric. Before I start to disassemble door panels etc. I tried with resetting ECU by disconnecting battery for 15 min. Guess what? It solved all problems with windows!!!

Advise, if you have any problems with electric equipment in Fiat cars, do like with computer close all windows and restart.

Regards
