And yes I strike again with another question :) -

using digomoto and I have 2 error codes

P0460 - Fuel Level Sonsor Circuit Malfunction
p0195 - Manifold Absolute Pressure / Barometric Pressure Cirtcuit Malfunction

what do these mean and how do I fix / diagnose. Used to work with cars (did MVE at school) and messed about alot ... the good old days when the only electrics were lighs / sparkies and dist. :)

Thanks,

They're both "out of normal limits" errors and can simply be a low voltage even from sometime ago. Fuel sensor seems to strike when battery voltage is low and fuel contents are low too

Now you've made a note of them, I would clear the codes and see if they pop up again. I'm guessing this is a 1.6 engine and that your car starts and drives just fine
But I've found that if you have a MAP fault code stored then the ECU ignores the MAP sensor from that point on and just relies on guesswork which produces very poor economy. So you should see much better economy when the fault is no longer stored and the ECU starts using the info provided by the MAP sensor which has an integral air temp sensor

It should pay for your new test gear within weeks:)

Excellant - every time I go to the garage they tell me it's a fault with the lambda sensor and give me stupid qoutes :), mind you about to clean air intake/butterfly and change air filter. at random times the revs stick around 2k and once or twice this has slowly creeped to 3k and thne back down. Idle is normally about 700.

LOL, easiest air filter I have ever changed, now onto cleaning intake

Yes and about half hours labour ..had mine done after many false map sensor errors kept coming up ..

or get it done while its there if you get servicing done there,it will be connected to examiner anyway to get service light put out.If you get one of the low priced fiat services (£79) ask to check if it has been done already if not ask cheekily if they would do it & you'll be a good customer;)

Just finished a ikle service just now :) - cleaned butterfly, (battery off will do the 90 seconds on 90 seconds off run engine for 5 minutes), changed the oil / air filter, replaced oil and sparkies. .... Just wondering can I use any software via the odb to check what version the ecu is running and if the update has already been done ??

hmm, is it normal to get another engine fault after cleaning the manifold and doing the reset thing ?

Not plugged laptop in yet to see what error code is, will do after making some coffee ... fecking freezing outside :)

engine was 700 ish idle now 1200
error codes
P0638
P1684 metering Oil Pump position sensor circuit malfunction
p1121 Throttle position (TP) sensor circuit intermittent high voltage
p1122 Throttle position (TP) sensor circuit intermittent low voltage

using another program i get
1. P0638
No definition found.
2. P1684
Powertrain: Driver 5 Line 4
3. P1121
Powertrain: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage
4. P1122
Powertrain: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit Intermittent Low Voltage

on scantool P0638 comes back as throttle actuatorr control range/performace

reset the codes stop and start the engine and back again they comes :(
also after 5 minutes of running and the fan was still running on the radiator for about 30 seconds and also sounds nosier

lol - feel strange keep posting to myself ... however noticed the pins on plug for the thottle body are filthy, cleaned plugged back in and seems ok so far and warning have all gone. Have took off battery again and will leave for 1 hour then do the 90 seconds on / off and then run engine for 5 minutes. Also anyone know if u can put a command to the ecu to see if it requires the update for the tp / throttle body problem mention earlier
