By searching i see a few people have done this. Just wondering if anyone else has done it.
I spend 40 quid a week on fuel which works out at about 2 grand if the conversion is around a grand then after a year it will work out as being cost effective and in the 1st year it wont be costing me anymore than it would if i just kept with petrol.
Im not sure how much they cost but i watched a programme and they did it to a range rover and it cost 2 grand so im guessing around the 1k mark.
Is it worth doing im not too bothered about doing the whole better for the enviroment thing would just like lower running costs.
Will this add any re-sale value to the car or will it lower the price of it when i come to sell it.
Any advice would be nice
Thanks Chris

i'm sure it costs over 1.5k, would be looking around 2k mark for a decent installation that you'll need
plus you still need to put some petrol in it as it runs on petrol until engine is warmed up, and also your lpg mpg will be around 15!

i've owned mk1 punto converted to lpg - and must say it's a saving in the long run, about 2yrs thats when you'll break even depending on your annual mileage

why will my mpg for lpg be so low? Im averagin 30 mpg with petrol

also to consider is that the government are going to stop the tax breaks on LPG in the next couple of years... making it not so cheap

Had toyed with this idea myself, but 15 mpg you would never be out of the gas stations on a decent run, loss of boot space etc . Gone off the idea. Think il move abroad where petrols cheaper and the roads are better..

How the f*** are you getting 30mpg from an abarth the highest i have averaged in my 1.6 is 28 lol. Think we should swap cars :D dont ruin your beast with lpg, if you want more mpg buy a jtd and give me the abarth, i want one, stupid insurance costs for young drivers

Hi guys
just to give u some info on my abarth lpg conversion
conversion cost me £1750 last year
have a 42ltr doughnut tank in boot where spare wheel was to retain space
from empty to full costs about £20 for 42ltrs
and if i go carefull will get about 240 miles from a tankfull

1 - lpg injectors in the engine bay
2 - gas tank in boot
3 - petrol overide switch in cockpit
4 - to show i still have all boot space

kind regards Paul

Hi just an update
i've just worked out if my tank holds 42ltrs and i get 240miles from it
(on a motorway run doin 65ish) i get 26.6mpg (y)
(on a motorway run doin 90ish 'ahem' i get 200miles from the tank)
which works out at 22.2mpg

I have no idea what my mpg is on petrol
i've heard of in flight refueling - if u have a lead foot with an arbarth
they'll need to invent on road refueling :D
