Has it ever been done before?

I'm thinking about getting a 1.6 3dr stilo and whacking in the 20V 2.0turbo from a coupe.

Any thoughts?

this has been mentioned before and i dont thik this is how its done. Those greek fellas have turbo'd their 1.6 if i remember correctly

They go through gearboxes every week too

to be quite honest as well, there would be electrical gremins galore if you did this

gearbox from Punto GT is better for a 1.6 turbo.

And a 2.0 20vT engine swap is not worth it, may as well turbo the 2.4 (which is being done by Dax) but it's mighty expensive and time consuming.

I know its not exactly the same but if your serious about changing the engine, have a read of Dax's thread about turbo'ing the 2.4 engine. I know its not totally the same but im sure it would be a hell of a lot of work!

surely if your going with the coop engine then the abarth would most likely be ab easier start?
given its a 2.4/5 cylinder you would hope to be able to use some/all the stilo wiring.

its probably not imposible but you would have to throw a lot of cash and time at it and at the end of the day, is it worth it?

The 2.4/2.5 coupes dont use the whole stilo engine, because some of it wont take the extra power. There is custom pistons made and a special crank IIRC. So i dont think its gonna be as easy as people are making out.

But as i said on another thread, if you do it, i'll take my hat off to you.
