Technical Wierd click/clunk on rear wheel [anti-rattle clips?]

no-one round here stocks em, been trying.

went to a salvage yard that had three mullered stilos in, i asked about buying the clips, but the guy wanted to sell me the callipers (minus pads!) for £40 each.

Brakes international said they have some, but going to try another scrappy on monday

I've got to say, it's a strange sort of favour someone does when they lose part of your car for you

I presume you've checked they really are missing and not just fitted wrong?

You could always buy Fiat OEM pads which I gather come with the anti-squeal clips

its part labelled A-C that i think i have missing

There wasnt a 1.8 stilo hidden in there was there?

na, all i saw was on the site was an 02 JTD with severe rear impact damage on it (has claws on it but one is well bent), a silvery blue 1.2 5 door with no front end and a 3 door in same colour looking very straight but missing two windows and two flat tyres. looks like a vadalism jobbie, not sure

Damn mines needed a gearbox for 3 months now  Punto HGT have a diff thrustbearing and no hole in the bellhousing for the connection i found out after everyone told me they were the same box and bought one coz i couldnt source a 1.8 box. Gonna have to make my own lay shaft for the HGT box now and final drive.

Sorry, i'll ask tomorrow night for the return clips.

ok first of all, i have some pictures but apologies, they were taken on an N70 so the cameras cack.

I have taken off the drivers side rear wheel and there seems to be all the clips in place, see first image (shows normal pic and highlighted).

on the passenger side 1 clip appears to be missing from the top, this is making the pad rattle in the calliper i presume (see second image, shows normal and highlighted)

Yep that looks about right- one is definately missing like you say.

It's not surprising that it's rattling...

Dunno if you have solved your problem but most motor factors that do not sell OEM pasts as many companies do not incluse them with the breaks as a way to make the product cheaper so they have to sell them seperatly because people will want to replace them as you propably know they get very weathered over time.

Have you tried asking the Tech's at your local Dealer for an old set (that would end-up in the bin otherwise)?

I'm sure they'll hold onto a set if there's a bottle of whiskey in it for them! :yum:

:D
