i have used this in my old alfa 156 1800 115K and the oly difference was a better tick over.

So !

last night i tried it again in the Stilo . as it has a average MPG meter on the dash, i started to monitor the readings.

it seems to pull a bit better and its showing a 1.7 mpg improvement. the stilo has only done 24k . i`ll keep you posted on how it runs .

has anyone else noted avery noticable improvement? it has only been one trip and i do 450 miles over 2 weeks so lets see.

BP Ultimate Unleaded has a minimum Research Octane Number (RON) of 97. Ordinary petrol sold in the UK has an octane of 95. This difference in octane quality means that with BP Ultimate Unleaded you can expect your engine to work more efficiently to deliver improved performance and better fuel economy while protecting your engine.

i always notice a difference when going back to ordinary petrol after using ultimate unleaded, the engine doesn't seem to run as well, it's hard to explain but it's noticeable

it might just be the ecu taking time to adjust i don't know...

v-power made my MPG level drop... fact...

thought maybe it was having a bad day but tried it for about 2 months... a tank of ron 95 then 97.. alternated for a few weeks.. lower everytime... dont know why but just was!

Does the stilo 1.6 have a knock sensor... ??? Im sure higher ron fuel has no effect on engines without one... as it cant adjust the timing to suit..

but it takes a tank full for the ecu to adjust, so doing it like that you wont see propper results

I've been using v-power for nearly 6 months (how long had my stilo) soon as got it used much fuel that was in it as I could to empty tank and not a spec on it. Next time I fill up at the weekend >_< must not forget to use that redex I've had for while and been miss placing :/

I used one of those fuel system cleaners and it blew a hole in the side of a relatively new exhaust. All I could think was that it wasn't burning off properly and collecting in the silencer until BOOM! I'm not saying it was definately the additive that did it, but it was quite a coincidence with an exhaust that was in top shape.

Studies were done at Oxford Brookes university (where I study) on a K-series engine. Here's a lovely link:

In Norway there are always two unleaded choices, 95 and 98. In Oslo and some other cities, there is an extra alternate of 100.

I've started using 98 octane, without noticing any major difference - bit still, there are improvements. The first time, and within the first 100 km, the idle speed was very low, sometimes at 600 RPM, and pretty rough. The ECU managed to cure this, and the throttle response is now even better than ever. That's the biggest improvement - throttle response from idle, which now easily adapts to the outside temperature.

Denso spark plugs, GSR induction and 98 octane really kicks the Stilo's ass.

I will probably fill mine up with the black stuff tomorrow :D

Just about to go into red

I am still going to push it and do 40 miles through that though tonight :p

550 miles so far (y)
