My car has been in my garage parked all week, got it out today and its dripping water from one of the exhaust brackets, looks like a join about a meter in from the back but may just be the bracket if uits an all in one exhaust?. Its under the offside rear door.

Is this normal or does it mean my exhaust is faulty? Its only a very slight drip and I only had the car on for 2 mins. there was also the same drip coming out the actual exhaust which my Punto does also, but never noticed water coming from the middle of exhust before!

Just had a closer inspection under the rear passenger door crawled under the part of the exhaust has a bracket round it and a bolt with nut round it, but there is a V in the bracket and here a NAIL (?) is going into the exhaust, the water comes out from around this nail. It looks like its meant to be there!

Is this right? What is this nail for it doesn't come out the otherside and it doesn't move.

the water in exhaust is the normal effect of work of engine. However the leak of exhaust if only it does not cause the larger noise then it is not problem rather.

There is a drain hole in the back box at the front lower edge. Its there to allow water from the combustion process to drain.I presume this is where your water is coming from?
Some cars just allow it to drain out of the tailpipe (you may notice this next time you drive behind someone)

SHC its not from the back box its from the nail. Is this nail in all Stilo exhausts? Its where you can see the exhuast under the rear passenger door. The nail looks like its meant to be there! No idea why though it goes straigh into exhaust!

Heres the offending nail, I think its there to keep the bracket in place, but water will always come out of the surround of the nail!

The NAIL is fitted to the exhaust system so you can see that fiat have not screwed it up......ha,ha,ha.. No it is there for production line use it enables the assembly worker to fit it correctly as a locating peg..... Water is a by product of the catalyst so it finds the easy way out so you have a very very small pin hole in the joint this is quite normal in all makes of cars
