Technical External Temperature Sensor !!

I have a slight problem, the external temp. sensor on my Stilo Dynamic 1.9 JTD Multiwagon is telling me that I should be careful on the roads as their may be a "PING", 'DANGER OF ICE' - This is all well and good but when it's 12 degrees out there and the 'sensor' is informing me it's -40 (Minus effin 40). I think I may have perhaps been aware of the blinding cold as I stepped out of the house and my fingers fell off!!

So, my question to you is, how do I by chance RIP the 'sensor' out so that I can replace it with one that has less of a sense of humour and behaves itself?????

Please help as the "PING" every second is starting to leave me with a slight twitch...."PING".

Try taking a baseball bat to the wing mirrors that should put the original sensor out of its misery ..

-40 is default,check connection behind door panel & A pillar.

Disconnecting it will put it to above default reading.
