My Stilo just hit with this massage:
"Low battery remote control"
I guess it knows everything for everything...:)
Anybody seen this massage?

lol this is an interesting one, i got this the day i picked the car up. As soon as i got in it. The dealer said that its an easy job just replace with similair watch or camera battery.
But forgot totaly what with getting a new toy and it did not flash up again until last weekend, but it was after i used the remote while a good 40 ft away. So i experimented a bit and found that opening the car with remote from anywhere within 10ft and no warning.
Then spent 40 min (i know sad) trying at different distances and managed to get the warning only once more after using remote at its furthest range.
I think it measures the remote signal strength as theres no way it can tell the actual battery charge, so it must go on how strong the incoming remote signal is, if its below a certain threshold then it flashes up the warning for you when you put key in ignition.
So your remote battery might be fine, just that you used it at its max range or there was an obstruction eg.another car in between you and yours when you used it.
Not 100%, on this but it makes sense in my head, if your getting a warning all the time and your standing right next to the car when you use remote then its a good bet the battery is shagged :D

Anyone ever had the low windscreen washer fluid level low light :p i got it the other day.

didnt even know it existed on the stilo lol (y)

did it as i was overtaking someone and scared the crap outta me as i thought it was an error message

I get this message a lot on the Stilo
"Excess speed!"
"Slow down!"

Passengers are are often impressed :spin: (but not by my driving :()

It was when i pulled out behind Chrissy who has an m reg non turbo'd diesel astra. slow as crap (especially running on 2 cylinders) :p

he pulled out i followed, expected him to speed up, he didnt, lorry behind nearly up my ass at this point, spot a chance, go for it, leave him like he was standing still with the lorry up his bakside :D

Turned it on last night to go work and said "Danger of Ice" with little snow flake icon :D

LOL I remember the first time I had that one ..WTF is that  then realised it was the cars way of telling me its freezing its Bo**ocks off :D

Yup had that one yesterday morning - was friggin cold!!!

Not had alternator failure for a while - will see if i get it after my trek to europe!

Hehe. So it does get cold down in taunton then. Im down there from the 3rd december (y) for my weeks break :D

i had ice on the windscreen on monday morning, and got the warning light

Never seen the low battery remote control message... but tend to keep a spare at home (CR2032 about £1.97 from Tescos) ;)

My latest warning post Fiat Service a fortnight ago is 'High Oil Level'

Eh? Mine must be lazy, never tells me when my washer fluid is low! I usually check myself. Got caught out once with a mix of snow and road ice...lovely combination to get stuck on your windscreen with no water. The bottle of water in the boot soon sorted that! (y)

I wonder if mine will tell me about the battery? Or if it's just pure evil and waits until I really need to get somewhere, then refuse to open in the freezing cold

Dunno to be honest lol :D

It flashed summat at me as it was quite cold - maybe it was that ice sensor.

But when i checked the washer bottle level it was very very low (y)

Might be a new surprise that no one has found out about before.

Ive just worked out how to use my follow me home headlamps :D:p
