Hi everyone. Just taken my Stilo along to the garage to get its new tyres fitted at the front.

Whilst the guy was removing the centre cap on it, the clips snapped of, so now it only has 1 clip left on it

I had the sense to keep it removed for my drive home, but now need to either fasten it back on somehow, or buy a new one, or even buy a new set.

But im not sure where to start. Any ideas. He suggested double sided sticky tape, would this work .

Im thinking about taking the double sided sticky tape and wrapping it round him :D

What an idiot, what did he use a crowbar, really winds me up when people don't take care with other peoples property, rant over

Tyre centres have an obligation to replace these things. File a claim with them. Was it a major or a back street?

It was through a company called budget tires that deliver them to a garage to be fitted, they tyre place i got them fitted was quite 'back street' (not as nice as kwik fit), but was like a usual tyre fitting place that you get.

I might get onto there head office and see if they can sort anything out. Heres some pics of it, it might be repairable.

Failing what Hellcat said, speak to Budget and they will (and have to by law) reimburse you the cost of a new one!

Just sent them an email regarding the matter. Was one of my usual long drawn out affairs - im learning from my mum how to write complaints :D

Wish i had chosen a garage somewhere else now, not that one

What's their website? I will back you up and throw a few legal F words into them if you like?

They are called just tyres.

website is justtyres.com i believe (or maybe .co.uk).

Email for them is [email protected]

What i cant understand is that i did remove them a month or so ago, and only used a flat screwdriver, and managed to get it off properly and slot it back in okay - its not that difficult

Thanks for all the advice guys

Ok their website is www.justtyres.com and they look like a reputable outfit.

You have done the right thing by mailing them with your complaint. Wait for a response. If it is not favourable, then I will mail them on your behalf and 'wave the paper' for you.

You will get the compensation that you deserve. I am sure they will be most accomodating.

should have gone elsewhere Josh :D did you get a Quote from Mobile Tires? Was he far out?

The only time ive seen them been a little rough was when they found my old mans focus alloys had cold welded to the rear hubs que block of wood and a hammer  At least it wasnt on the side of the motorway and no extra charge for the extra labour and they put them back on with copper slip

Hey i've got this problem too and with the same wheels! One of them has 2 of the clips broken on the centre cap but it still holds. And because its the blade/fan wheels, the centre cap aint just a plain round one. It has 5 small cuts in it that matches up to the wheels. Nice idea but a bugger to replace!

I agree there. I might see if i can fit it on tomorrow whilst at work, if i can get another piece of plastic and bond it on, then maybe it will fix it temporarily, or maybe just a smidgen of double sided sticky tape.

I quite fancy a new set with the abarth logos on though
