I bought an OBD reader on e-bay for £15 and that reads the error and resets it too. Welcome to the forum and nice car btw.

gone again today ,about 20 miles into a test drive as had booked day off work as losing faith in car.anyway managed to get a tech to read code while i watched it was p2013 +p2004 which is flow shutter valve , intermittent fault valve stuck half way or along those lines.seems not to be overboost related.dealers getting in touch with head office as now stuck what to do, they will contact me soon.they reset fault for me to get home. trawling through vauxhall sites as similar engines and have come accross -swirl actator inside inlet manifold.apparently they can carry out a swirl actator test in tech2 which manually operates it and can be visually seen to move or not then its jammed or actuator faulty.vauxhall seem to replace the inlet manifold if they have this fault which is a 6 hour job!(n)

hi any idea what these bulletin number/s are so i can ring the dealers with the actual numbers, that might g them on a bit as no contact today.have now found similar faults under different names with the fiat jtd the alfa romeo jtd and the vauxhall cdti . now finding it hard to believe that fiat didnt know what else to try.

ni again not driven car till sunday, took it out for a good thrashing to get fault back on but it never did?does anyone know specifically what this flap does and at what revs or load it operates so i can try to target it specifically when driving to and from work.thanks all.

another p2013 on way to work today limped there n read fault on me ebay reader cleared it also.checked engine to see if i could see anything operating.and found this jamming what im assuming is the flow shutter valves(n)

screws been in there a while n chewed up plastic bush slightly.hope it was there from the start and that was what gave fault last two times also.
valves seem to shut when off and open when running, are these to stop it running on when ignition switched off? no idea where its come from nothing looks its missing a screw?maybe dropped when new flow shutter valve actuator was fitted 6 months ago?

This is old thread.
Anyway flow shutter was fiat dealers description of what we know more as swirl flaps, sitting in 4 of the 8 inlet tracts.
Not connected to egr at all
I think the inlet butterfly may have some action to do with egr to restrict inlet so pulls more egr gas in.
To update original post, this issue never happend again after i removed the bolt rattling round on the inlet manifold , that was after after several visits to dealer and what i think was a new swirl flap actuator being fitted by them.

are you sure it hasn't got them
what make year is your croma, 16v?
is the intake manifold ally or plastic?
some of the alfas seem to have a different design of manifold still with swirl flaps but mounted in a block nearer the head.
look at the pics bottom of this thread for the different type
