Technical Highest Mileage?

My 1.2 Stilo has 68,000 miles on it. Still a baby, but about right for a 53 plate I guess.

My first car 1.3 MKIII Escort was given to me with 100,000 on the clock, and I rattled up another 74,000 on top of that! Put that in context, original engine (only had head gasket replaced at 90,000miles, not even a skim), original gearbox and drive train. By the time I scrapped it the front wings flapped alarmingly at the bottom lol.

I had a 1997 Escort TDI (the 89bhp model), bought it with 72,000miles in 2002, and put 74,000miles on in less than 24months! Gearbox fell off after 30,000 of those miles, scrappy box was the replacement. Cheap car!

My 1992 mini is the lowest milage i've put on a car, had it 9 years and only put 22,000miles on it so far.

my '52 JTD is now pushing 135k, hoping she'll go quite a bit further though! Doesn't get as hard a work out as she did with her previous owner - 200miles a day i think! Now she does about 50 a day.

Oops just checked my 1.2 actually only has 62,000 miles on it! I intend on keeping it until I hit 100,000 though.

Why only 100k

50 or 200 a day, wouldn't make much difference being 200 as the engines wear happens mainly on start up and long distance driving of 200 miles a day wouldn't cause much more wear than 50 miles (y)

Because everyone gets bored eventually.... that said I won't be considering selling until I hit 100k, if the car is still going well and parts are no problem then I may hang onto it lower. Being a Scot we don't like to loose money, so if its worth £500 by then, then I'll drive it until the wheels fall off..... twice!

So far the car has cost me about £1k a year if you factor in the cost of the car and the time owned, the longer I keep it then the cheaper it will get until it hits that point where I'm paying for repairs every few months.

Get it up to or over 170,000miles and then you can boast lol. Thats what I did on my 1984, Escort L with 1.3 engine and 4-speed box!

130,000 JTD's.... so just about run in, nearly! :) Wonder if my 1.2 Stilo will still be with me then, only got 60-odd k on it just now after 6 years lol.

Up to 112,000 now. Since passing 6 figure mark it has never run so well!! So there's the answer, drive it in to submission!! :D

My '05 Stilo has 173900km (approx. 104130 Miles) in 4years and 7 months.:D
I made 25120km (15040Miles) in past 15 months.:p
