Is it possible to reset it once for all? Actually to disable it?

there are only 9 electronic "service stamps" which count back to zero (so 9x 20.000 km or 12/15.000 miles) - theoretically it is possible to reset the service counter multiple times with the Examiner (or by a CAN- command ) - after 9 service resets there will be no more "service due" messages.

You know I could have sworn I said it could be disabled earlier, perhaps all my typing is not coming up on peoples screens???:D

It is very simple to disable the service counter, all you do is ask the dealer to carry out a "replacement of instrument cluster" procedure using examiner. During this procedure 4 parameters are programmed into the "new" cluster. However if the mileage is increased by 1 it is possible to write to your existing cluster and resetting the service number to zero. And no more service reminder messages.

If you can read this please let me know just in case my screen is faulty:D

So if I read it right there is no way to reset it by anybody but ONLY the Fiat dealer, right?

I know a guy in FIAT here, hopefully he will kill the damn counter for a small fee, unofficially...

Thanks, got it, but somehow I do not think my dealer will get it (as they are just a bunch of *******)

lmao, wait...WHERE'D MY CAR GO?!?!?!

'Yes Mr. Clark, I have the details you gave me, but you're car MUST be the 1.4, the 1.2 was never sold in the UK. Are you SURE it's not a right hand drive?

:bang:

:) my guess is the Abarth is also a 2.8 v6:confused:

I would lift up your coolbox compartment just to make sure a steering wheel isnt hiding in there :)

It's a sad fact that although there are good dealers out there, a lot of them (ALL the ones I've dealt with in the last 2 years, all 4 of them) are totally useless. Especially the one that told me my car didn't exist
Chris, I just can't see why you seem to fall out with all the local dealers in our area.

I can't say I've had any issues with them. They offer a service so I just agree (or tell them) what they're going to do and pay them when it's done. Sometimes I make a point of telling them what I don't want done but whatever you do it's important to keep control of the situation (as in agree beforehand what happens in a certain situation - and most importantly agree what you're going to pay them)

I presume you're referring to Italian Car Spares (POOLE) in reference to not knowing anything about your 1.2 They're a garage not a dealership  I really can't understand what you have against them. They have low labour rates, have invested in Examiner, did a great lowering job on mine (without issues), charge just £30 to supply & fit heater plugs. They also actively pursue Sympathy Claims with Fiat UK and can supply obscure parts (such as the Fiat rear brake tool).

Sounds a pretty good outfit to me (y)

TBH, I don't think they know too much about EGR systems but does that make them a bad garage that I shouldn't have any more dealings with?

Just apply a bit of give and take - we all make mistakes :)
