Well after 5 years of Fiat ownership the time has come to move on. Over the 5 years we have enjoyed 3 Fiats (Wife – Punto Abarth and myself 2 Stilo Abarths). The first Stilo purchased at the end of 2002 was some what flaky. The usual problems:
Rain Sensor not working
Passengers door locking the wife out twice(hmmm...if only they had made that an optional feature)
Air bags lights etc
But you all know the list.
There were two great supports during the problems.
1)This forum that provided ready advise
2)The great attitude of the car dealer (Continental Car Services). Both their Sales and Service were rock solid.
The 2nd Stilo purchased at the start of 2005 has been very reliable. It's been back to the dealers twice (2 annual services).
I was planning to hold on to the Stilo until January next year by which time the Bravo should be available. However my wife change her Punto for an Alfa 147 earlier this year and I've managed to get to use it in the weekends. After taking it on a long trip last month I decided that I would get an Alfa 147 or if I could find a demonstrator for sale maybe a 159. Last week their was an advert for new 159s at a drive away price that was too good to miss. So yesterday I traded the Stilo on a new shiny black 159 with charcoal leather!
So a big thank you for all your help over the years.
It is with a mixture of sadness and excitement that I move on.
