In the last spell of warm weather we had, I turned my air con on. To my horror, all the vents had nice cold air coming from them except the drivers side dash vents, this air was only luke warm as if the air con was not turned on.

I have had no previous problems with it other than it needing re-gassing when i brought it a year ago, and since then, no probs. Only needed re gassing as the previous owner had not used it often enough.

It is driving me nuts, as I'm sure you can all understand. :bang:

Has anybody had this same problem? What was the cause and solution? Any body know of any threads that may help?

Any info would be greatly recieved, :worship:

Thanks

Have you got climate control? The driver's side and passenger's side are independant of each other. Possibly a stuck/ failed actuator?

No, its not that posh. Hasn't got the climate control, just the bog standard air con.

How would I check if the vent duck has moved?

I initially thought it may be the pollen filter, but ruled it out as the rest are all working well. Its only the driver dash vents(the one by the door and the one in the centre, everything else is working well)

Did think the pipe could be blocked by leaves etc? Could this be a viable reason?

Right the problem your getting I think is because of a broken tempreature control flap, had the same on mine with manual aircon.

My tempreature control flap was "glued" back together this sorted it, how long for I'm not sure though? to reaplce the part itself is costly becuase most of the dash has to come out to replace it.

To glue it your looking at 1hr 30mins labour.

It's pretty difficult to get to and check but I'm sure decks will make it simple :)

air con? you kidding me? I havent use mine once yet this year, infact, I still turn my heater on every morning to work.

You should use your aircon for 10 minutes every month. This stops the pump seizing and keeps the seals lubricated. Thats what it recommends in the manual too.

sorry if im sounding stupid and all, but what are decks????

is this a fiat job or could any good mechanic do the work and glue it???

thanks

Decks is a real, living person.

Real name on here is Deckchair5 and he knows things

Some say he can tear down Gatso speed cameras with his nostrils, others will claim that he uses nitrous oxide as breath freshener.........all we know..... is that he's called the Deckchair ;)

so where is this deckchair guy?!?!?

how come he hasn't offered me any of his knowledge??!??!!?

somebody shed me some light!!!

its driving me nuts! :bang: :bang: :bang:

Bonjour tout le monde:)
If you don't have climate control then your system just needs regassing again. A bit like a radiator at home which is cold at the bottom when it has air in, if the system is working inefficiently then the coldness is lost too quickly and before it gets to all the vents.
Turn off the vent to the rear seats if you don't need it
