I got a trailer hook mounted when I bought the car. Fiat told me it was very expensive and difficult, as they had to route plenty of cables and make connections and relays here and there to make this work. I understand that, as pulling too much current out of wires propably would make some strange behaviour of the Stilo's delicate electrics. So we had a little bargain and I ended up paying for the hook and install. Done this myself earlier, but best to leave this to the trained guys...

So, back to the time where I ended up with a flat battery after having a trailer hooked on over night... Bloody hell, what wrong?

Noticed that one of the pins have constant 12 volts running - even with the key out??? And none of the other pins work at all. I have no proof, as I have only driven gas-station-trailers (which rarely work) and my neighbours wreck-trailer (cable torn off). :bang:

After digging into the boot, I noticed only one - yes one - new cable. Not plenty of cables as stated, but one - going straight into the fuse box beside the steering wheel (left side for me...). It is clipped on to another red cable there (live feed). And this red cable goes into a connection box in the boot (between the spare wheel and bumper area) and makes a little u-turn, straight out again and into the pin just mentioned. How backwards is that? I suppose this wire should give power to some relay somewhere, but the magnificent Fiat-trailer-installer-guy had a bit too much vino rosso along with this spaghetti. :yum:

To the left in the boot there is a fuse box with one relay, but I have no clue what to do. So is anyone technically skilled enought to rule this out for me? Or is this straight to the garage to make them fix it.

Mr. T, have you installed these?

The trailer-man, Morten.
