Well today I decided to check the air filter- as one has never appeared on my service invoices- low and behold, all cacked up.

Got a new one from motor factors for £6 and fitted no trouble- lets see if MPG changes!

also put back on the undertray as was hanging off after a nice smack off a speed hump.

Also been having problems with a strange feeling when turning, found out what this was the other night when the centre console interior trim fell off and this has been catching the column when turning- so I fixed that back on to.

After some more little things, greasing hinges etc, took her out for a spin and enjoyed a good thrash!

Today would also have been a good time to do the drop links, being sunny and not raining or windy, but i needed to be driving it later this afternoon and didnt have time to do them. think im going to get a garage to do them

Same here, I still cant work out how some follow stilo owner able to live with the car after they lowered the suspension. My jtd's undertray will hit the smallerest speed ramp even I take it easy, after have to go over speed ramp at 1mph in my old Rover 200 sdi (lowered by 60mm with full spax suspension kit + tuning box, 145bhp, I missed her so much!!! not when I go over speed ramp though.......(n) ), I will not lower my car again!!!

My undertray catches unless i crawl over speed humps as well.

Can you change air filter without removing it?

You MUST remove the undertray on the JTD.

Getting a bit overconfident on the speed bumps and whacked my undertray yesterday  (at least I hope it was the undertray). Looks like it's back to driving slow over them - which I guess IS the whole point anyway!

Changed the air filter today using Deckchair's wheel up on kerb tip. Needed to take the undertray off though.

Also changed plugs and bought a spare coil as per deck's advice.

Its the pollen filter next !

On the 1.2 its a piece of ****- its on the top/front of engine block, and requires three screws to be loosened to create enough gap to come out

As an update on MPG, combined with this change and the service im now hitting CA50.02mpg using motorway and town combined- before the filter changed it had improved to between 41-43 from the 39 it was getting.

Wanna do a massive motorway run to see what it will max out at!

MPG wise this is the best the car has been since I got it, and fiats skimping on air filters hasnt helped. Im now feeling this in my wallet- £38-£40 for 2 weeke to work and back as apposed to £42-£47
