I was ready, i was gonna sign on the dotted line - Stilo 3dr 1.9JTD Dynamic - but now NO EASY GO!!!!

Fiat decided not release in the UK - Why ??? I am gutted.

If I buy an import can I have it, has anyone already got it???

Any help/links to import sites/advice would be VERY APPRECIATED.

Desperately Seeking Easy-Go

Hi...

Easy-go (like the keyless-go system by Mercedes) had several electromagnetic compatibility problems during the test before launching... and marketing of this optional didn't start... (Ask to the first Laguna owners which have a similar system, but less sophisticated, how many problems they have...) For now it isn't available in Italy yet... maybe in future, but I don't know when it will be available...

Cookie a council: buy now your fantastic Stilo without easy-go...It's better... There is an efficient multifunctions remote control available...

Ciao and good Stilo!!! :)

Roberto

P.s.

At soon in this forum... maybe with a Stilo...

Ciao Cookie...

Sorry if I put out your enthusiasm for easy-go... maybe now I will do again...

The multi functions r.c. is included in Dynamic version... it's integrated with the key (a flick key ) (maybe for this: multi-functions...|))... it's a standard remote control, (but usefull and efficient...) has 3 buttons: you can open the doors :)D), only the boot door, control the windows, activate the dead-lock system etc...

If you want wait something, wait the new MJTD diesel engine (I'm not sure and it isn't official, but it is said that it will be available at the end of the spring...) with multi-jet common-rail tecnology... it's the engine which now has Alfa 147... 140 bhp [8D]...and similar consumptions of old 115JTD :D... But I think that it will be expensive to buy [xx(]...

again good Stilo :)...

Roby

P.s.

Warning: In Italy now there is a bit of confusion because seems that Fiat is changing some equipments... i.e. ASR-MSR, lights under the doors, socket in the boot... disappared from some the latest Stilo and Stilo MW, but not from the brochures or from on-line prices-list...
Inform yourself from your dealer!!!

Thanks again Roby!

Okay, so how about MP3 - another option I would like, Any date on that (could it be fitted by dealer after?)

What is ASR-MSR and what socket in the boot? It won't put me off I'm sure but still interested!

Thanks
Cookie

You can also open and close all windows by long pressing the remote buttons, quite useful in summer when you want to get some heat off when you approach the car (and helps reduce strain on the AC unit when you switch it on immediately) :) I don't miss the Easy go option at all.

Oh by the way, I recommend you get the MP3 option (it costs less than a hundred euros), I regret not having ordered it. I don't think the dealers like to include an option AFTER you have bought the car (at least not at the same price :-(( )

CD is included in dynamic version, MP3 reader is optional... I don't know if with an update software it's possibile to fit it after.. I try to ask in Italian Stilo forum...

ASR and MSR are two systems patented by Bosh, the first Anti-Schlupf-Regulierung (in German) is an anti slip system to control wheelspin in acceleration, the second Motor-Schleppmoment-Regelung summons up torque to prevent the car from skidding if the driver goes down a gear too abruptly on a slippery surface... in the latest Stilo, Stilo MW seems disappared and became optional... ask to your dealer!

in the boot there was a 12V socket... (Murali do you have it in your Stilo?) seems also it disappared from the latest Stilo...

ciao

Roby

P.s.

I love Stilo and I hope it will be my next car...
maybe you know them by now, but I try to advise you some optional for me very good:

* Xenon headlights
* air-conditioner bizona
* CD changer
* HiFi system 260W with 8 speakers and subwoofer... if you like listen to music in your car...

Roby : I do have the 12V socket in the boot.

As far as looks are concerned, I prefer the 3 door to the 5 door Stilo (even if I have a 5 door stilo, it is mainly meant to transport the bambini !!!)

A presto.

If you take the mp3 option, i think it's a waste to get the CD changer (all you have to do is put your music in mp3, one CD will last a long time !!!) :)

the dual zone clim is not an option in the French Dynamic model but is delivered as standard equipment (Dynamic), unfortunately I don't have that as I bought the car in feb 2002. it is very useful compared to the manual A/c

what about the gps option ?

Ciao Murali

I think that Fiat could have done better exsternal Stilo design, however I like it...

I prefer 5 doors, because it's more comfortable than 3d... Je n'ai pas enfants... mais je pense que le personnes qui entrons en ma voiture devons voyager confortablement et conserver a beau souvenir de moi and de ma voiture... :)

A bientot! W la Stilo ;)

DONE!

Just ordered my Stilo: 1.9JTD Dynamic, Moire Black, Anthracite Leather, Cruise Control, Sun Roof, Dual Zone Climate Control, Side Skirts & Spoiler, ordered the MP3 player although the supplier say they have no price for it yet ????

What do you think?
Roby: I was put of Xenon lights £600GBP!!!!)

Well done Cookie! I envy you :p...

3d or 5d?

For me your choises are all ok!... Good coluors combine: moire black and antracite leather... I like them!... I can see you also choise A-C dual zone: it's a jewel...you will see!

I advised you Xenon headlights because they are really useful for safety in night driving...but unfortunatly they are also very expensive (620 euro in Italy - 413 £!!! |))... If I have enough money I'd buy them... (for now I haven't [xx(]) however the Stilo standard lights are ok!!!

In Italy for Dynamic version CD+mp3 cost 205 euro (139 £)... only CD 100 euro (68 £)... standard is cassette player, but in UK some days before in a topic I read that in UK Dynamic version CD became included: https://www.fiatforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1069 (forum/stilo/technical/Connect System posted by Danny)... But now if you say that your dealer don't know the price for mp3 option... I'm not sure... Did you check if CD was included?....

I am worried [:0]... tell me that it's all ok...

See you soon Cookie... with your wonderfull Stilo :)!!!

Roby

[1 euro = 0.677 £ UK 14/03/03]

Roby, I think Fiat upgraded the spec during March here and the dynamic now does come with CD standard. I am still in the strange position of being able to order an MP3 player but still do not know the cost! I will post if I get anymore news.

ciao roby

i know it is very comfortable with the 5 door Stilo but as far as looks are concerned (the rear I mean) I prefer the 3 door. The 5 door is too classic may be a bit too old fashioned.

Anyway, I made a 7000 km trip last september / october to Italy and the journey was extremely comfortable for me, my wife (e una puglesa !) and my 8 month baby in his bassinet (culla). I had bought a roof top box (coffano di tetto) for the stroller and other big stuff like bedding etc, so the inside of the car was only for the passengers without any baggage to hinder us.

congrats to cookie for your new stilo, hope it's running fine !

Cookie

Well... sorry... I had fear of to have advised you badly...

It's right that Fiat changed Stilo versions in March... maybe out of Italy Fiat has changed for the better: CD standard in UK... A-C dual zone standard in France (Murali do you confirm?)...

But in Italy some latest owners are very angry! Why?... I read yesterday and today their posts...

For Italian Active version disappared from standard equipment:

- Light and mirror in parasol winglet;
- rear view mirrors in bodywork coulor ;
- ASR-MSR;
- seat lombar regulation;
- drawer under the seat;
- lights under the doors;
- 12V socket in the boot;

and maybe something else...

For Dynamic I don't know well because there is confusion in Italian forum, certainly ASR-MSR became options... this owners ordered the car in January February, but they say that the dealers didn't say them of this alteretions...

For price of mp3 reader, isn't there a green number of Fiat UK customer care?...

See you Cookie!

Roby

Ciao Murali :)...

You went in Italy... well!... and your wife is pugliese! (Sont de belles femmes les Italiennes eh? ;)... ) My best friend is from Taranto (Puglia!)... but I live in Turin (do you know it?...If you done Frejus...you passed near Turin..)
Where do you live in France?... Congratulations for your petite enfant :I... Enfants are a wonderful thing :)...

A bientot Murali! (sorry... but is it a nick?... Could you tell me your name?...)

Salut :D

Roby

bonjour / ciao !!!

Still waiting on delivery date for my car, I don't think I will get it for another 10 weeks. Once I do I will let you know what it has and has not got.
I am excited to get it now and only hope it is as good as my MR2 (Toyota) which I have to sell because now I travel a long way to work.
