Having questionned a Fiat dealer about my changer not automatically moving to next cd after completing one I was sent this reply which also refers to the reset of the cd, has anyone tried this?
I can't at the moment as my car's away for lpg conversion

'My technicians haven't come accross it before, but as I siad we don't see that many of them. But he did say he has seen the problem of when you turn the ignition off the cd player resets it self back to track one. The way to cure this is to reset the body computer. On the drivers side lower dash there will be a panel which you can remove. You will see a 2 block connector with 2 very large red wires going into it. Remove this wire from the fuse box and leave it out for about 2 minutes and then plug it back in again. Its worth a try.'

Had my car been available I'd have tried before posting, I'm not sure if anyone has already tried it or whether it would be a waste of time. If it's not been tried it would appear to be a very simple cure.

I shall go and try it in a minute to see if it works. I can't see it working though - that is a generic system reset, whereas the CN+ unit itself will be remembering where the CD was when it switched itself off. The Body Computer won't care!

Just noticed something when I was going to Somerfield to get Vodka

I had to push II/¦> (play/pause) as a call from my actual mobile came in, and when I did it didn't pause, but stopped playback and took it back to Track 01, 0:00 time.

This I reckon is the problem. On the usual headunits you push II (pause) and turn the engine off, and the unit will remember it.

Does anyone's pause actually work? If so, try pausing, switching the unit OFF using the ON key (it'll say "Please Wait whilst the unit switches off"; maybe it is storing the track position?) and then turn ignition off. Give it 30 seconds, turn it on using the ignition; maybe it'll remember where it left off?

Right, my Pause is actually a Stop, it seems the CN+ only remembers tracks/positions whilst it actually switched on, switching off via On button or Ignition results in no "memory" of previous position.

Does your stop remember the position? Mine resets it back to the start!

No, as soon as the CN+ switches off, either by power button or ignition it forgets where it was last.

This may be one of thos issues that are "by design" .

Just been outside playing with it again . . . :p

If you hold down the II/¦> button it does actually pause the track :)

Tried being clever (to no avail) by using Voice Commands to pause the track, then switching it off and on . . . Didn't work

On mine when pressing Pause, a Stop symbol appears rather than a ||, but pressing again resumes correctly.

The odd thing is, that my Ice Link Plus remembers what was last played, even after disconnecting the iPod and turning off CN+, not sure if the CN+ tells it where to return to, or if the ILP remembers itself.

It must be a software issue.

I'm trying to ascertain if anybody who has a cd changer fitted in conjunction with Conn+ manages for their cds to start where they left off before the system is turned off. i.e. without resetting to track 1

I just find out something new. When you press SRC during playing CD or MP3 your get back to FM and when you get back to CD by pressing CD button it resumes from last playing point.

I have just discovered (by accident) that if the Connect Nav+ language is set to Italian, the problem with the CD resetting goes away. However, after a lengthy discussion with the Service manager at Thames Fiat in Slough, he confirmed that with the voice set to english, there is no fix for this problem at present. Thanks for the help Fiat - NOT!
