Seeing loads of 500s in Banbury lately amongst other Fiat's. Can't remember any of the details as I've seen far too many. Just wondered if we had any new Banbury people here with 500s or other Fiats?

Say Hi. :D

Two red 500s seen in hospital carpark today.
There once was a Fiat dealer in town called 'White Horse' in the building now the chemists at the cross. They were later at the building which is now Crofts petstore. The garage in Hook Norton was also a dealer for years.

The guy who owned White Horse made a decision to sell up when Fiat were going through the lean years before the Punto came out....He basically said if things didn't improve he would have gone under (if only he could have seen the future!) and by selling when he did, he said he was going to get out with some money....I only know this as my parents bought their Uno Turbo from there and my Dad knew the owner fairly well from having it (and our previous) Fiats serviced there....

We bought our 1997 Punto from BMG Bicester which has also long since gone....

:)

I once stopped by and bought a caliper reconditioning kit (really) for my 127.(probably about 1975or 76) I phoned ahead and they stayed open to wait for me until after 6pm . A business with service like that didnt deserve to fail.

BMG Bicester changed hands and it's now a Ford dealership. Don't think it's called BMG any more though. Still see some Fiat's with the "BMG" labels.

I do drive around but still haven't seen anyone! Seen a nice Nuova Panda red with two white stripes down the middle and keep seeing this MK1 Punto with reg ending in "HET" thats that "cherry red" with a blue bonnet, which coincidentally I saw in Rugby, Warwickshire when I happened to be up there the other week!
Seeing too many 500s with private plates, and keep seeing a green MK1 Multipla around too. And a dark blue Panda with a Scottish registered plate.

You won't be seeing my car for a few more days because it's broken down. It's being looked at tomorrow morning so I'm hoping they can do something about it.

Think Fiat should come back to Banbury now - there is a market for them in this part of the county, methinks!
