Anything that causes the officer to suspect you are not in full control of the vehicle can lead to you being pulled over - using a phone, camera, satnav, road atlas... even drinking or eating a sandwich, because you've only one hand on the wheel

Surely the police can turn on the sirens or talk to their radios then?

I agree that it is dangerous to do somethings while driving but i think the majority of drivers have enough common sense to know when to do and what to do while driving.

Thats a bloody good point actually, its fine for them to do 60 in a 30 zone while radioing locations/descriptions during a chase, yet we cant at legal speeds?

That might be why I dont feel any way doing it, I tend to ignore hypocritical laws....

Having said that, I rarely use my mobile (as a mobile) in a manual car when I have to change gear as I dont feel in full control. I`ll hapily use it in one of my automatics or on a motorway while cruising though...

Err, Yes we can ;)

It's only handheld telephones that its illegal to use. As to if they decide to try and do you for careless driving when using your CB when driving is another issue though.
