Noticed the wheel....also puntos should be thrashed mercilessly its the only way.

That's FIRE engines in general isn't it, Punto, Panda, Uno, Tipo, all the same

...were Tipos not a different engine? fires only went up to a 1.2 in that era and the tipos were 1.4 upwards

Personally I'd only thrash the 8vs my 16v was a bit fragile for my liking...although it did have entirely new suspension other than front wish bones all round (among loads of other repairs to get it just so)...at which point the engine died....the 8vs were fine 16v died after 68k total miles and 24k with me...so I went nearly new japanese cos I'd spent an average of 800 quid a year on my fiats and it's far to much of a drain on my student loan atm! Weren't tipos derived from lampredi unit also used in punto GT? will admit not my area of expertise.

had a sniff on the tipo section and apparently Fiat fitted the 1108 fire at launch but the other engines are not fire derived. Think the 1108 was euro only as I have never seen one. Must have been an absolute slug in that body
haven't had the pleasure of a 16v and indeed only one non carbed 8v but all of mine bar the current punto have run way beyond the 100k mark with minimal work other than maintenance and the Punto I'm still working on it but looking good so far. Bit unlucky thereI think.

Was parked a row down from you again in the coach park today...was gonna shuffle my car along and take a pic...but I CBA having been on a 9 hour today...also wash the poor thing! ...That and nearly sure I got you on the Voip phone when i was looking for a WII deal...it's a very small world indeed!
