This goes out to the mentalist Blonde girly that almost killed me today on the M62.
Please please please - Don't drive on motorways.
There's enough idiots on the motorways that change lanes without signalling - but at least most of them look to see if theres anything coming from behind them 1st!!!

Just incase you're wondering - I was driving the dark metallic Sei Abarth, who's passenger wing you skimmed!

End of Rant

perhaps she was stunned by your rugged good looks ;)

lol I wish...

was she fit

...aye... stupid, but cute :p

....I'm gonna get a kicking for bringing this up - but it totally re-affirms my belief that Women are the cause of most accidents.
Either through moments of sheer stupidity on the roads, or by being a distraction to the rest of us :p ;)

I suppose I should really mention how the situation happened.
There she was cruising along at 80ish in the centre lane - myself closing in the overtaking lane.
Mr plod on hard shoulder had pulled someone over - this seemed to spook her, and in a rather irratic move she planted her foot and swung over into my lane no more than 3 or 4 feet clear of my car.
Bearing in mind that I was travelling faster than she, this posed somewhat of a problem - upon noticing my flashing lights, beeping (pathetic) horn and general in-car shouting, she - rather than hitting the accellerator, stomped on the stop button, promptly causing me to fill my pants for the second time in less than 30 seconds...
Having done all of this and then returned briefly to her rightful place in the slow lane, she proceeded to tail-gate me all the way to Birch services!

Not impressed.

women appear to be less spacially aware.

especially when in town. ever noticed how they just stop in front of you, or in the doorway of a shop preventing ANYONE and ANYTHING from entering/leaving said shop, and then get really shirty when you ask them to move

same on the road. next time your in the car, and a women is driving, ask what the last car was to pass on the right (just colour). or how many cars approx are qued behind them in slow traffic. if they have no idea, then its pretty obvious they're not really paying enough attention as to what is going on.

wow that sounds well scary,

i'm female and will admit 98% of female drivers cant drive. I know myself im stil learning as i only passed my test in Jan so i have alot to learn, but i drive from wigan to southampton alot. The stuff you see on motorway is madness, one thing that i hate is ppl not keeping left when they aint overtaking.:bang:

you need a cav/vec twin horn ronnie. they are uber loud and was a must on the turbo

Yeah... definately need to sort it out - just sounds so pathetic... saying that she did hear it - but it merely prompted a sort of "who are you beeping at" situation...

*note to self - add horn to list of jobs to do on the car*

If she was tail gating, you should of hit the brakes to wake her up ;)

Yep - tried that once, and didn't like the way she seemed oblivious to it, so thought better of it and kept at a steady 80.
It really pisses me off when people tailgate someone who is in the fast lane and already breaking the speed limit - obviously they are prepared to disregard the speed limit (not that I'm one to talk here - but still), yet they never seem to want to undertake???

That's a really good point!
My Mrs is an excellent driver, but most of the time doesn't even realise when there's a police car on her arse...and don't get me started on nearside wingmirror checks for cyclists when turning left!

Gotta agree really,

and yet us lads still pay more insurance

Ladies seem to think they are the only people using the roads, oblivious to what is happening around them

It blows doesn't it! My gf is only 22, and pays half the insurance on her 1.2 clio sport, as what I pay on the Sei - and I'm almost 25!! GAY!

I think the operative word here is 'some' lads

Sorry Helz - no real response to your comment, just didn't want you feeling left out :p

I wouldn't say that women in general are bad drivers - I think unfortunately they seem to magically pass their tests first time, and as a result get complacent.
My sister failed her test 4 times, and is a fantastic driver (if a little gas happy), on the other hand a work collegue of mine passed first time, and is appallingly bad - I wouldn't get in a car with her, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be on the same stretch of motorway as her!

As for the not keeping left thing, are we referring to center lane hoggers?
Some people (myself) do it to avoid weaving - if I can judge far enough ahead to know that I wont want to overtake, then ile sit in the left lane - but when I'm looking 20 or so cars ahead and see people driving slower than I want to go, then I'll stay put in the middle - purely because it's less dangerous.
I try not to stay in the fast lane too long though.

I have noticed that some women drivers (not all mind) are not prepared. Such as the other day pulling onto the roundabout in York which is always busy you have just got to go for it to get across to inside lane. There i was following this housewife in a Freelander TD4 onto it. Large enough space to get a lorry across, does she go - NO . A few other good positions to pull out on passed, still didnt go.

I found myself shouting in the end at her telling her how to do it, 2500rpm dump clutch and go - used some language i shouldnt have.

When she finally did get across to add insult to the situation, she sat on the overtaking lane of the outer ringroad, atempting to overtake a delivery van, and once upto 70mph decided to stop accelerating . Resulting in the delivery van and a few other cars on the inside lane pulling away from us, meaing i got held up embarrasingly behind her.

That's fine Mr Ronson, but being the appalling driver I am, I'll happily undertake you (been as you are 'obstructing the flow of traffic), beeping on my rather loud Brava horn to 'alert you to my presence' and embarass the hell out of you

Oh and it's usually a man hogging that there middle lane, or pulling out in the face of oncoming traffic (ie. ME) when there's not enough room to do so and causing me to swerve wildly or beeping at me to move when I'm already held up behind slow moving traffic. Plus the hatred in the eyes of a man who gets overtaken by a girl, it's a sad sight to see.

Lol - glad to hear it :p
Don't get me wrong though - I'm not saying that I hog the fast lane, but when I'm stuck in it (ie, already there because I'm trying to overtake), and performing an overtake correctly, and some moron gets on your arse when they could quite as easily go into the slow lane to undertake.... gah!!! Nevermind :p

I'll agree with you on the middle lane hogging thing - it does tend to be men that do that.
But like I said before - for me its a safety type judgement.... if there's room for me over on the left, at whatever my chosen rate of pace is then I'm happy to be there.

Why is it that being overtaken by a girl pisses most blokes off?
Doesn't really bother me that much - it's just the same as being overtaken by a guy... guess it's a blow to the ego or something... makes me glad I don't have one (y) hehe

A sight I see all too often on the A63 out of hull.
I think for some reason people believe it to be a 60 limit - when its 70.... understandably this causes similar problems to what you mentioned there Joshua.

ohmygod ronnieronson ive never seen so much effort into a reply (and so many quotes)

when refferring to the middle lane thing i was on about when im driving down empty stretches of motorway and i come across one car all alone sitting in either the middle lane or the third lane! Being the good driver i am i come out from the left lane and make a point of going all the way around them and back into the left lane. I understand your point of in no point pulling to the left when you know you only need to pull back out straight away - coz obviously you are travelling faster than the traffic in the left lane!

as for the whole girl overtaking a boy thing miss bravo just pointed out thats abit ancient and old, i think everybody is over female drivers now! :D

Plus the hatred in the eyes of a man who gets overtaken by a girl, it's a sad sight to see.

obviously never experianced that, but no doubt its on parr with the look on a drivers face when i overtake them in an unmodified 899 cinq.

It happened the other week over a stretch of country road near here locally called 'the flappit.' it goes from 30 to a 60 and im happily cruising in 5th gradually gaining speed behind a mitsi shogun. except as soon as we hit 40, the shogun guy decides he doesn't want to go any faster. Its a wide road, pretty level, good surface with good visibility over the majority of the road - so there just no excuse for it :p so i see the road is clear ahead on a straight, drop into 3rd as i pass the shogun, glance to my left and the guy is just open mouthed, clearly quite embarressed :D. goes without saying he tailgated me for the rest of the stretch in an attempt to regain his manly shogun dominance

i just negotiate the 'parked' cars and sit in my rightful place in the outside lane. it is good to see peoples reactions as they get overtaken uphill by me in the 1.4 tipo. (the secret is momentum:p ) but it's only as the motorway isn't being used properly that i stay in the outside lane. if i come across a car on a deserted motorway in the middle lane i close up on inside lane, move to middle lane flash lights then sweep around it if they haven't pulled over then pull into the inside lane asap to show them where they should be!
if anything i pull back in too much, but then the times i don't it's the time when i feel guilty as i had plenty of time to catch up and pull out again.
a good thing to do is just to shake your head as you go past if they're in the middle lane:devil:

as for the man/woman debate i'll just say that in terms of middle lane hogging it's nearly always men, but then there's usually more men drivers i see... so can't really say
