an online gaming section.

i think this would be a great idea first thought of by:

We need a gaming section of the forum, not just one thread, a whole section with subsections of consoles etc would be cool.
Maybe even have some reviews in it.

if you look here you can see im doing a pretty good job of getting the 360 forumers together but having a dedicated section would be good for different platforms. and a review section for games so they can be rated! get a ff gaming community going!

and i know someone who would hapily moderate it....me

thats what im reffering to the link is just to show what ive tried doing in the ll for the 360 owners!

aww bless. they are great! mine crashed for kirsty, the green ring was flashing red, then when i tried it was fine. women eh?!

back on topic and to make it clearer, the area would have subsections for different [platforms ie: pc,xbox,360,ps2,ps3....! can use the areas to rate games or organise times to be online. i think its a great idea. i know its not really feat related but neither is the leisure lounge yet they are for the members to use and enjoy.

I can offer an inter forum gaming match if you are interested?

I have www.rustyjoystick.com - cyberpub themed gaming community with our own CSS server and loads of hidden team clan gaming sections within the site - we get around 4 million hits a month, user base of 400 and most are up for online gaming against other websites

We normally play playstation.com etc but it would be fun to play you guys and gals too

but what it will do is get fiat enthusiasts on the forum toger in other ways. otherwise why have an arcade section??? just my opinion! think of how many threads get started in the ll about gaming? this could eliminate that. and leave it for all the other randome stuff

we've got 4 platforms at the moment, the PC, Xbox, Xbox360, PS2) with more coming out soon (the PS3 and Wii)

each has different ways of playing, usage, and all different ways of playing

ive youve got over 4 groups of say 5 people for each platform, all trying to play games with each other (ahem ) your just gonna end up with a lotta confusing goblygook!

you watch the chatroom while 4 different people are having a few different conversations

this is a big forum, its not gonna run outta room! i can see your trying to keep things neat and tidy, but tis getting silly

the LL is a big part of the forum and the people on the forum make it what it is!

most of us spend most of our time on it as we know the people on it and like them, why should we have to upsticks, its not like were trying to make the forum a games forum we just want a small part as cars altough a big part of everones lives one here, are not the only part

you see other forums and they dont just have one bit for off forum stuff, they have a area with differnt sub forums in it! thats a better way of keeping it tidy IMHO

Dave, that's not true, you weren't welcomed by a certain group of people, who I think were p**sed at you to start with. That group wasn't the entire selection of people who are on chat... it's IRC all should be welcomed

BTW. I like this idea in priciple but the details probablly need a fair bit of thought
