I have put an ad on the forum. I have received e-mail to renew, but the link has no option to do so. Sort it.
I came in late to the marquee thread but I am not impressed with the way it has been handled. Moderators, get your act together, or the forum will suffer!
Why is nobody thinking practically? All this talk of storage and transport.
The solution is simple. Buy a box trailer! The marquee can be stored in that and it can be parked anywhere. As long as someone has a tow bar there is no need to rent a van.
Simples!

As Dave says, IIRC, clicking the link will renew it for you automatically. (y)

With regards the marquee, a box trailer would have been a costly solution due firstly to the cost of one, and secondly it would only move 3/4 times a year so would probably seize up. Then it's the old chestnut of storing the trailer - I don't have the space for it, nor do I have a tow bar, and neither does the forum staff that I asked. The big gripe with it, is it takes far too long to put up and take down at a show.

Hope that helps explain the decision we came to.

Your idea isn't new, we used to have a van and it was all stored in there. We lost the van due to economic reasons (it flumped its MOT) and with that we lost any real solution to logistics. Your plan is essentially a great one if we can find someone right in the middle, who has a tow bar and doesn't mind holding on to it. So far, no one has come forward but by all means if you do have a trailer and some space...... :)

I don't think getting rid of the marquee is an unreasonable decision at all. As you say, it's a pain to use and a pain to store. Most club's use the Coleman type event shelters now. A couple of them provide good space and can be chucked in a car boot. You can get side walls for them as well.
I do have a couple of gazebos myself, but they are useless in the wind:eek:

Not sure that the renewal of ads works automatically. At least, not on my tablet. I have had to manually renew my ad.
