Maybe I should have chosen my words a bit more careful but yeah, thats what I meant. I'm just more used to being told a time and date and if you can't make that one, there's always another meet about a month or 6 weeks after that.

Re: Regional Co-ords?

think the guys with the stilo is trying to say that theres nout wrong with a set day time and place for a monthly, bi monthly, quaterly meet in the same place as most clubs do (i know you not a club (thank god)) which the ones I go to are a good laugh and as for taking over Sammi you know what im talking about just look at this thread the topic is "regional co-ords?" not a dig at the lack of events or there location and not an invitation to try and arrange an event through just a simple question which is why dont the FORUM (not club) have a regular meet for arguments sake at the Trafford Center on the second wednesday of the month from 6 simple as that

Re: Regional Co-ords?

again youve missed the point, NO ONE is stopping anyone from sorting out their own meets!

No i still dont know what you mean by taking over

I think were going round in circles here, when a second meet was suggested, no one was interested, ill say this again....

If people want to sort out small mini meets then who's stopping them?

Answer - No one

i realli feel like i am here

Edit: if people are waiting for a date a time a venue for regular meets then...

Trafford Centre carpark, 8pm, 15th of every month.... there you go. enjoy

Re: Regional Co-ords?

Lol at how this thread has turned out! It was only an idea FFS! Anyway, it didn't have the outcome I expected/hoped for and it has now run it's course. Could one of the mods please close this before people start falling out with each other....

Re: Regional Co-ords?

Stilosport...

Dont worry,

no one is falling out with anyone.... the point was which i thought we had agreed on that people are free to organise mini meets as often as they wish, why this thread was dragged up again is beyond me, as the points were already covered

Edit: what was the outcome you wanted, people are free to organise as they wish, but it seems people want things doing for them

Re: Regional Co-ords?

Poking my nose in here
But I 'think' I can see where everyone is coming from.
Every other forum/club I belong to has area reps/organisers, even the local club has district organisers for each town/area, who sort out local meals and get to gethers.

The national organisers do the car shows, national meets etc so there is no cross over.

I think this could work on the forum as a lot of active forum members do not come to the shows or meets but may be willing to attend local gatherings which in turn may get more attendance at the forum meets.

Re: Regional Co-ords?

I think that this all boils down to the fact that FF is a forum, not a club (as dave already pointed out). The implications of this are that there is no-one who is "officially" in charge of organising. And as this is a forum with voluntary membership, open to all (except banned users), there are no rules about anything other than usage of the forum. As it stands, anyone who organises anyhting in FF's name is a volunteer, and it takes a lot of work and commitment to bring it all together. I'm sure sammi and claire can both attest to this (Good job with skeggy btw Claire )
This is all starting to move in to club territory, where you start to need an official membership, a commitee, club rules, and nominated roles for things like organisisng events. I'm wondering if it's getting to the point where FF needs to decide whether it wants to stop just being a forum, and start being a club.
