Does this site have any? Just wondering really as the Vx club I'm a member of does.... I think the forums could do with more than just one major meet per year (per region or as a whole). It seems like there's more going on "down South" than there is further "oop North" (ie Xmas Bash) and for some, this is just too far to travel and so miss out on meets etc.

I'm not talking cruise style meets but something a bit more grown up. I know people can arrange meets by themselfs but it just seems a little too dis-organised.

I don't really think there is much difference, if any, between the FF and an owner's club - it's developed rather well. Instead of having a comittee we have the moderators and volunteer organisers, who effectively do the same jobs.

Have a look at www.migweb.co.uk. Thats "only" a forum but if you're prepared to pay £20, you become part of Migclub. The regional co-ords organise meets, days out, competitions etc but forum members can also benefit from these. I'm not saying that FF should start charging for using this site but that's where I got my ideas from. Steve1219 hit the nail right on the head with what I mean in his first post. Maybe by looking at the site above, people will get more of an idea of what I was trying to achieve/point out with this thread. ;)

i do understand what your saying and ideas are totally welcome, we are discussing this BS, the main problem is that it isnt a cruise or a local site so you probably would struggle getting numbers, its bad enough when sorting out one every few months.

I tried a second NW meet, BigBlack Stilo tried a local one, just seems people want it until things start getting organise and people have to commit.

that a club with a forum then not just a forum
why not join club stilo and organize some events for them ;)

That's not the point I'm trying to get across. They have regular organised meets and... oh... never mind...

Migweb isn't a local site.... I understand what you're saying though. If people aren't willing to commit, it's a waste of time. ;)

In my opinion Fiat Forum works well because most members are in other clubs
ie
Club Cento
Puntosports
Boo
I think it works great that I get to meet you lot at the odd show or night out

But I am still a very active member of another club and attend all the local meets with them

I am starting to get a very negative feeling to this thread from a lot of the answers, and I honestly do'nt see why! The question raised was could some local area meets be arranged by the Forum and a lot of the replys are no,join another club etc. I belong to other forums/clubs but spend most of my time on this one as I have found through meeting and PMing that people on here are friendly and easy going so why not give the local area idea a go and allow the people who cannot travel to the main Forum meets/shows a chance to meet up.

Thats my lot on the subject as I do not want to fall out with any one over this.:(

Steve the point of discussion is that there is pros and cons, go through both the pros and cons :)

And i said were discussing things backstage anyway. I am giving my opinion and so is everyone else, i dont think anyone would be that petty to fall out with someone who disagrees with them ;)

Not everyone will agree with each other, but my prediction is.....

If this goes ahead then people will be up for it at first then it will fizzle away and just the odd one or two people attending..

Steve we do have local meets LOL :D

aww we dont need to fall out over this :(, we all sensible enough to have a discussion (y)

the only problem monthly meets are the venues, most wont want you on there property , it isnt to bad if you going there once and never be seen there again

a pub, cinema, bowling, etc... car park would be best, as you could have something to do, so enjoying yourself and giving them trade, everyones a winner

sammi or claire cannot organise regional meets, its up to the individuals who know the area to do so

i would sort it out amongst yourselves who would be a regional co-ord , there may be individuals, there may be teams, but remember that you are promoting this forum , so best behaviour :D

No no no! The replies aren't join another club. The replies are along the lines of "People can organise meets themselves if they want". In terms of whether the forum can organise them, you have to ask "who is the forum?". If you mean the moderators, then there are only a limited number of them, most of them have personal lives outside of FF, and they don't cover every region. Besides which, they haven't been democratically elected (because the forum is run at Ben's discretion), so if you don't like the way they do it, tough. If you mean the forum users, then fine, but someone needs to volunteer, and they need to commit to finishing off the organising.
In relation to migweb, it's a club, with an open-to-all forum, in the same way FCCUK is. I know the FCCUK committee members work really hard to organise things, and it's professionally done. But it does cost money.
