Is there anyways of checking how many LL posts we have made? Can it be made available on the user profile's?

I am only asking because I am curious to see how many posts I have made there...

I understand that some people probably don't want to do this incase it starts up the spam again. Although, I think that as long as we keep the non-LL posts on the 'avatar bit' this will not occur.

What are you opinions?... and Can it be done?

cheers,

joe

ps- I am not knocking the current setup, as I believe it is far better than it used to be.

yer i think its a good idea, but i wouldnt put it under where the aviatar is, id put it in our profile under how many posts we post per day :)

Exactly what I was thinking of (y) , but probably can't be done...

Your welcome to your opinion sammi :)

I was thinking that the current setup of car section posts on the avatar bit is needed, but it would be nice to have a bit in the profile part to show how much users have contributed in other areas. (LL etc)

Yeah I'm interested in how many LL posts I've done :)

I'm not sure about others, but I spam more now when there is no LL post counts. As the LL posts would be hidden away in the user profile bit, new users will still be able to see how useful users are, by the posts in non-car sections.

I think that people are over the spamming for post counts now, looking back on it, it was a little sad...

Another point, if the forum was truly concerned about spam, then why is the Malets thread still there

Well, thanks for your input anyways.

because poeple want to post on it for the game not to up their post counts, if there was loads of different threads like that then we would lock them, its not doing any harm atm so it can stay.

Joe you must be one of the only few people then that spam more since the post counts were taken away from LL cos the soam level has dropped and it would be nice to keep it that way, if the posts return it would go back to how it was before, people dragging up old posts that had no purpose of dragging up ect... it was a nightmare

TBH, the main reason why I make more posts now in the LL is because I didn't really use it before the count was removed.

People are always dragging up old posts, but the main reason for the high spam counts before was that some people were making loads of posts on any threads that they could. Very little of it was through reviving old threads.

Although, like others, I think that it could work if it was put on the user profile (?) Maybe as a test?, if the 'soam' level rises again, it could be removed?

ps- whats the 'soam level' ?

To be honest I think this conversation is a non-starter. There was a lot of discussion at the time and the decision was to remove LL posts from the post count. This has been very successful and the forum is a better place for it. Firstly, I don't think it is possible to show two seperate post counts for each user due to the limitations of vBulletin, secondly I don't think it's advantageous in any way. It's Bens forum though, and it's his call.

Removal of LL posts from the proper posts was a great idea IMO, but I never saw spam as an issue. The reason why I like them seperated is that newer users can easily distinguish between how useful members are.

Well, was only an idea. I did ask if it could be done in the first post...
