I think Dom is right, I'm sure there was something in the old "Social Groups" we used for chat.

a chat room for every forum then people can talk instead of people post silly things

I've been working on a chatroom recently which integrates with the chatbar at the bottom. It's not quite finished though, as I've been putting more work into the upcoming app release

Ok, here's it in the base form.

Its not done though - I need to get the bar removed and have it working from the right.

Feel free to test it

Ok, That's as far as I'm going tonight - bar is gone as you can see, so now it's just about moving it over to the right hand side.

The actual move is easy (float:right) - but the javascript which opens up the window is more tricky to amend (it opens up with the window to the right, which is fine when the bar is on the left, but once moved to the right - the chatboxes all go off the end of the screen).

Ok, a good nights sleep and some javascript debugging later - and hurrah, we're all done

I guess we should probably arrange some times, so it's not always going to be empty, maybe one evening next week?

ben, can you have more than one chat window? I was thinking that this would be a useful facility for upcoming events discussions, something only accessible to events team/mods.

just a problem i can see what you and 2 over people have been saying last night,
you will need somethink to clears it off, you will also need mods to sit in there to look how stuff go in there to stop :spam: and you should also have TnT before you enter you will have to accept them, then they can enter the Chat Room and the TnT could say somethink like this:-

Chat Room Rules
1. No swearing, or trying to get around the chat swear filter
2. No abuse or threats
3. No talk of using drugs
4. No linking, this includes advertising other Websites
5. Do not type words out in capital letters or flood the chat room
6. No begging
7. No "heated" discussions in the Main Lobby, please keep them private
8. No creating separate rooms
9. Although the fiatforum is an international forum, the majority of users first language is English, so to make it easier for everyone please speak English only when in the chat room
10. Do not use emotions/smilies that are not provided as a part of chat

Breaching one or more of these rules will result in warning and maybe a kick, and if continued breaching a chat ban and in some cases a game ban / IP ban, you have been warned!
