Reporting Threads/Posts

When I'm reporting threads I'd like to know what's happened with them (if that makes sense?).

So maybe if we had something whereby if I report a post lets say, then I can see that report somewhere and what mods post about it.

Unfortunately the report system just isn't advanced like that.

When you report it - a thread is posted backstage, which mods can discuss. We couldnt' have this as viewable, and there is no way to post public comments.

It's something which they fixed in the new version of the forum software, but that's not been released yet ....

So when the new software is released it will have that functionality in it?

It's unlikely we will be upgrading. Based on the current beta versions, it's a load of crap...

If it's the one about the classifieds, it's been dealt with but the question's not been answered, probably because the person who dealt with the report didn't know the answer (and neither do I).

Just to add to why this is a good idea, I asked a question in a report a few days ago and haven't heard anything.

if its a question you need a reply too then a direct pm to the section mod is probably better.
if mods had to reply to every pm it would take them ages, some days there can be over 100 reports

Who mods classifieds? That's why I reported a thread in LL and put the details in.

That's why if it was a small section with my reports in it I'd be able to see without mods needing to PM, same goes for the auto notification for editing posts.

if a section has no mods then thats what supermods are for so pm them

:shrug: supermods aint what they used to be then, they could have easily raised any issue in mods area for you if they couldn't answer your question them selves

All dealt with by me by deletion and PMing the user who created the Ad's. If it happens again it will be infractions. Tbh I don't see the need to tell you how I deal with thing's you've reported as you're not forum staff.
