Hey.

Sorry not sure where to put this thread.

I would like to close my account as I no longer have a fiat and to be honest have not been on here in years.

Thanks,

Phil

I wanna close my account too! Fiat sold.

All good forums have this option in user's control panel ("Delete Account").
Why FiatForum don't?
It's pretty lame, not professional, not "user friendly"...

So are you saying this isn't a 'good forum' because this option is missing?

Ok then  point noted, many thanks for your input, duly noted - never realised I had spent nearly 10 years of my life on a crap forum :)

It was never going to be a good comment from a mexican - this is coming from a country that thinks the poncho hat is a good fashion accesory, then the idea that prickly cactii make a good houseplant

Ariba!

The two forums for the hyundai coupe don't have that facility and I don't know of any other that does either. As said above, If someone wants to leave then just don't log in, that way any useful contribution to the collective knowledge is not lost. When you write something onto a forum it ceases to be your property and can be used by the forum as they please.

Didn't someone(in europe) recently take the Catholic church to court as they wouldn't unbaptise them? (Without them needing to do something worthy of excomunication)

The point there was that he thought he had a human right to leave a "club" or "organisation".

Its easy to change your contact preferences to recieve nothing, then just forget about the site. Technically anything you post is public domain here and FF can do with it as they wish after your gone.

Just a thought but I guess under Data Protection the subject (user) could legitimatley request the removal of their details from the site. What about a web form that users who are really sure they dont want to be here can fill in. Staff then add them to banned users, change their username to "Deleted Member" and remove their email address?

Posts stay, user doesnt. Solves both problems?

I no longer have a Fiat either...but I still find this forum to be useful and helpful. Underneath, all cars have the same basic build and there's only so much to go wrong...also as an ex-problematic Punto owner (3rd blown headgasket - current owner has it up for spares/repairs now lol), I may still have useful contributions.

But most of all, this is one the friendlier forums I've used!!
