This could be deemed as stupid but based on what people determine as slagging off can we have sumwhere on the site to post silly pics of cars that to us look daft? That way posts wont get deleted and threads locked! Plus it will give some of us a laugh!

What do you think???

my own personal opinion is that if someone decides to put their car on a forum etc for all to see then its fair if others make comments..hell ive taken loads on mine from Barryboys and My-Sei etc..but if someone takes pics and posts them then thats a different situation....its a difficult one :(

Sorry but if you want to lower yourselves to this type of posting join the BarryBoys I did not think that is what this forum existed for:confused:

If people post their cars on the forum yes I agree comments are asked for but there is away to post these as well.

I thought we were trying to grow this forum not turn it into a distructive and p**s take media which would put people off participating.

Just my 2 cents worth

Steve

I'd agree with steve on this one. It's alright taking the mickey out of someones car in private, but imagine if it was your car people were laughing at specially if you'd spent loads of time & money on it I know I'd be a bit miffed if people laughed at it.

There's no way there should be a thread "look at this car what a load of crap" but to my mind "look at the exhausts on this" is ok even if the photo was taken without permission (and the barries will confirm this is all legal of course). After that, posts saying "I don't like it" seems ok to me but not "what idiot would do that" or somesuch.

It's a fine line though - and I guess the people who own the site get to chose where to draw it. However, to avoid threads like this one, surely it would be good to give a reason for deletion (as I've seen on many forums) rather than just have it gone, which is annoying. Especially since I've spent time searching every section for a thread before now not knowing it'd gone! Anyway this must be possible it happens on PSC and, er, briskoda.

i am saying that Barryboys is the place for it to go..was simply saying that in this day and age if ur car is on the net its bound to have the **** ripped out of it. Mine has loads..you just have to take it..someone even voted mine as **** on this website lol.

I agree with the statement above.

Fair comment, but was more than likely done tongue in cheek on this forum, but to start a thread to actually rip someones pride and joy apart is not needed. I have had comments passed about mine on another club but because of the way they are put it is exceptable but if I join a club/forum and see a thread dedicated to destroying the car that is different.

Besides at least your car is moderately tasteful(by that I mean theres no bits sticking out of it) Hell i've had people make remarks about mine just because it's a Fiat. But I agree leave it to another website.

Thinking about what everyone has said i have thought about it and have decided to withdraw my request and after seeing what everyone has said on behalf of everyone that has replied to this previous thread i am going to make another request.........

As far as I am aware, Applesei was spoken to on MSN that very night by an moderator as to why it was deleted. Still hasn't stopped numerous other threads starting, though

There's nothing to stop people PM'ing moderators to ask if / why threads have been removed or locked..........
I know. But I'm not going to go to that effort. Not to say I'm not interested what happened to it.

I'm just saying that if the reason was written in place of the thread itself (like I say already happens on other forums) it would stop many of this sort of threads. That's all.
