we're not dying but we have less members this year than we did last year. This is mainly due to renewals being late. The fact is that we are not growing to the extent the FF is. To be fair to the club, we do need all the help we can get with attracting new members because there are alternatives, like ff, that offer a community for Cento owners. Why pay £20 when you can get all the technical advice and events you need from the forum? The problem is that Clubcento offers all that and more but if you never experience what it has to offer and make the most of the £20 (Which I might add you pretty much get back in free food at events and discounts at many parts and tuning companies) then there is no incentive to join. We, as a committee, are working very very hard and spending a lot of our free time promoting the club and it is very disheartening when an affilliate becomes a "competitor" in a business sense. It's bound to cause friction between us and the forum, so I can't believe why some people can't see the problem.

The forum does get much more promotion as it is at the moment through car stickers (Cheers Gaz) and numerous name-dropping by members allover the web

someone did come up with an idea of ff.co.uk

we all kicked off about that, i guess cc just feel threatened, although ff arent into stealing potential members

I wasn't going to comment on this thread - I don't like conflict :( (well only hand to hand!) - but it now seems to be a Clubcento V FiatForum bout which is not healthy for either side but especially Clubcento in this instance.

I think at the mo there is no chance of FF dying and the same goes for Clubcento. We are always actively seeking members as is FF and they both wk hand in hand for mutual promotion as they are at the moment different 'beings'.

In my opinion if FF goes ahead and gets an events organiser to seek stands and be responsible at different events as long as theres mutual promotion of benefits of being a member of a certain club and vice versa of an online forum it could be beneficial to all parties.

I love Clubcento and do not want anything to 'dent' it - I think this discussion should end and if FF have someone to sort out events then so be it - if people don't want to join clubs and part with a small membership fee then it's their loss and their choice (I know its our loss too but we unfortunately can't win em all).

If FF have a stand as do BOO and CC at an event they should be seen as united and not like we are at the minute and wk in harmony with each other.

I don't like the idea of anything coming along and poaching members away from the club but if we do as we've said above then it could wk.

I think I've wittered on enough - there is an answer to all of this - Shhhhh and we'll see what actually happens.

The fact is FF shouldn't be a "competitor" - CC is a club for cento owners, FF is a forum and made up of all sorts. You shouldn't prevent FF from growing because a small part of the ownership doesn't like it. That's selfish.

Just while we are on the subject, I got rid of 8 Clubcento/FF leaflets today!!! I think that is a personal record.

I can see the arguement on either side is very justified and at the moment I am feelng very torn down the middle. I feel like I should be standing on one side rather than the other(n) I wish it all wasn't getting soooo complicated.

I will be attending all future events whilst I have a Cento with Clubcento. I am a great believer in the reasons for and the concepts of a car club, hence I am a member and am planning to become a lot more active in the club.

There are no sides to stand on. We are not competitors. FFS!

I woudn't mind an FF sticker for my car, if they were available I'd order one or obtain one somehow, wouldn't affect me joining other clubs, If there was a Fiat Tipo Club, I'd Join, if there was a Modded Cars Club, I'd join that too and so on and so forth. I'd still have the FF sticker on me motor though. :)

err Ben, I know, I was one of the first to say that, ad I explained it twice in depth.

When you are in a position where you are a keen member of both and there is a rift developing like this, it feels awkward. can't explain it any better.

does being a member of a club provide the members of that club some sort of benefit?

if so, isn't that why you pay to be a member of that club?

if you don't want those benefits then you could just drive around with an FF sticker or two.

or have the benefits aswell as the FF sticker, I don't see why that whould be a problem unless ive totally missed the plot

cant we all just get along? :D
