Renaming Unhelpful thread titles

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but i find it really annoying when a thread has been named something like "Help !" or "I've got " or similar titles that give no indication as to whats in the thread..
Is it just me that thinks it would be better if a title was more descriptive ?
More on the lines of " Help with Wheel size " or " I've got Bladder problems "
Is it possible for the mods to rename threads to something more helpfull, as I know from past experience how hard it can be for newcomers or general browsers looking for stuff specific, as these threads are often overlooked.
Silly request I know, but worth a shot.

Re: Renaming Unhelpful thread titles

I try and rename threads if they go horrendously OT, this one for example https://www.fiatforum.com/ulysse/23421-photos-accident-phedra-lancia-version-other-rantings.html

I do agree that a lot of threads that are started use non-descriptive terms, plus bad spelling makes matters worse when you come to use 'search' in a few months time.

Only a mod of that section can rename threads - within 'thread tools' then 'edit thread'.

On other forums you can hover the mouse over the thread title and the contents are displayed allowing you to read without clicking.

Liam

EDIT: So does this one!

This forum does the same, or at least gives you the first few lines of the thread.

Works fine for me, I always use it if the title isn't obvious.

Mine doesn't give the first words of the thread it says "go to first unread post" - that's internet explorer and Firefox both do that for me.?

Re: Renaming Unhelpful thread titles

I use it too, but for people in a hurry, just looking for specific info a properly titled thread is a better option..
Im not complaining about this, especially as Stu says he has renamed threads before. I just thought it should be something people should be made aware of when posting threads..
Maybe if there was something next to the area where you put the thread title in, explaining that the content should be reflected clearly in the title in order to for a better response and to help with searches etc... I don't know as im crap with words but you get the jist im sure.

Rich, move your cursor a bit to the right, so it is over the thread title. The 'go to first unread post' comes up if you are over that blue square to the left.
