for Armistice day

Armistice Day is on 11 November.

A two minute silence is observed at 11am on 11th day of the 11th month because this is when the Great War, or World War 1, came to end in 1918.

But now, this anniversary is used to remember all the people who've died in wars since World War 1.

This includes World War 2, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, and conflicts in Bosnia, Rwanda and Kosovo.

Hello , a 2min silence on 11/11 would show so much respect to those who gave more than we could ever comprehend for what we take for granted- great idea 1986Uno45S

Just a pity too many alive today have no sense of respect or morals!

 Im thinking maybe frontline duty for those people as a punishment

I was lucky enough to listen to a Rat of Tobruk during the week, it actually brought a tear to my eye some of the things he went though. I went up and thanked him afterwards for his efforts, and I brought a tear to his eye because he had lost all faith in my generation.

Its just a pill that I will be at work at 11:11 tmw, dnt think that I'll be able to listen to the radio or anything :(

Perhaps the silence could be longer than 2 minutes for some people... ;)
