Number Plate Search

Number Plate Search

Personally, I couldn't remember a registration number to save my life so I wouldn't be able to use this facility. On my Honda forum we has club stickers for the window which indicated that you were a member but then, not everyone had one. So I guess it would only work if there was a dedicated part of your CP ID for this and that would need to be linked to a database search engine by admin or one of the mods.

Of course there might be those who, for whatever reason, might not wish for the details of when and where their car was spotted to be made common knowledge.

Issue with linking numberplates to cars would be that information would be very useful to people wanting to clone your car. Say they want to do a bank job, they steal a punto Mk2, log on here and find a mk2 punto's number plate. They get a dodgy numberplate made up and then drive it around safe that they won't get pulled as ANPR shows it as legal.

Surely they could just as easily use a registration that they've seen out and about...

just an idea, im not arsed about my reg being on the internet, i'm not saying everyone can see every plate and a description of the car, just be able to type it in and see if it brings up a car.

info you would have seen anyway if you'd have spotted the car.

i can remember plates easily

didnt your plate get seen stealing petrol once?

if so i would of thought you would be put off by the idea:confused:

BAD IDEA,

what if someone posted a "help my central lockings not working" post or a "where do i put the car alarm controller and what channel should i use" or even a "what locking wheel nuts do you recomend" post

Someone could gain a lot of info from the rest of the site before making an attack
also from a brief look at your previos post i can imagine that you
- sometimes have a laptop in the car
- You like top gear
- You like Tim westwood as a DJ (but he is a plank)
- You like to drop down to third for a quick overtake (so may be speeding)
- Oh and any Mods that you don't want you insurance company to find out about would become public aswell (no that you have any of course)

This was just a 2min look

This is obviously someone who works for speedyreg.
In fact, she works for their sales department :ROFLMAO:!!!

Now if only they were more open about it, instead of trying to act all coy and pretend they have only just come across the site, for the exact company they work for  "from memory" :ROFLMAO:

BANNED

Surly this system would be so you could enter a plate and it would say

F345 FTH is Mikeee

Not F345 FTH is Mikeee's Fiat Punto. You'd already know what car they've got anyway if you've spotted it and wanted to see who is was, so security wouldn't be an issue. The issue would be if it were open eg had all members and their plates listed. It should just be done so it's a search and answer (y)
