they would have to have some sort of member recognition when its typed. Kind of like they do when you search for a member in the search ection and it has a list of members matching that name.
so you want the forum to constantly scan the entire database incase one of the 40,042 members names are mentioned somewhere?
i dont know the IT side but i doubt its worthwhile for the load it would bring.
if you worried you are in demand i suggest you just do a search for your username
however doing this raises another issue
i searched for 'smally' and got 60 threads.i doubt smally is mentioned in those
He is right though, it would be hell with the db to do ... basically you would have to split the post into seperate words, then search each word against the userlist.
Much easier is to just click search, type in your username and change the radio button to "show posts"
