Fake dump valve?

Fake dump valve?

Sammiboo, Your coop has a dump valve, It's probably the plastic bosch one fitted as standard. It's a recirculating dump valve, which means the boost is directed back into your airbox instead of venting to atmosphere.
You will hear it when changing gear etc, If only slightly.
If you wanna hear it, drill your airbox.
OR replace that cheap nasty one with a nice aftermarket one like baileys/forge or a jab one like blitz etc.

As for fake dump valves

you can also buy a speaker for the engine bay as someone said, It is triggered when It senses a vacuum change eg. changing gear, and emits a fairly life-like tschh! I saw a saxo 1.1 fitted with one and it just sounded silly!

so does it actually do anything or just make a noise?
A dump valve keeps the turbo spinning, if it didn`t have a dump valve the back pressure actually stops the turbo from spinning.
