SEDICI/SX4 Propshaft

Hi everyone,

Is anyone able to tell me whether a propshaft from a Suzuki SX4 Mk1 DDIS (2006-2013) will fit my 2006 Sedici 1.9 Multijet?
My own propshaft is jiggered with both UJs needing to be replaced, can't afford throwing money at it hence the question.
Its annoying that the UJs aren't able to be changed easily, poor design.

Thank you for any help/suggestions

Re: SEDICI/SX4 Propshaft

Look on Ebay..
See if both builds use the same parts

Im afraid the Sedici was never popular on here

Good luck.. and do let us know what you find

In the seventies, Ford introduced 'staked' props. Instead of circlips locating the UJs, once they were fitted, the housing was peened over, or 'staked'. As a result, many propshaft specialists sprung up, often as an addition to machine shops, who would unstake the joint, replace it and either restake, or for more money, machine circlip grooves, for easier future replacement.

With the move towards almost universal front wheel drive, there is much less demand for such services, but they do still exist, usually specialising in 4wd props, as that is where most demand is. Some time ago, a forum member had success with a rebuild of the viscous coupling on his Panda 4x4.

A used prop is likely to be of a similar age to yours, whether from a Sedici or SX4, and will have similar wear, or age deterioration. There's a risk of different rather than better.

Google for propshaft services and see what comes up. Ask them the question, see what answers you get. A professionally rebuilt prop will be so much better than any used one.
