Hi everybody
I'm new to this group as I have just purchased a sedici 4x4 diesel 2006 with 35000 on the clock.
I have a list of problems that I need to put right. I have spent 10 years as a car mechanic, so I.m not tottaly stupid when it comes to cars.
So here is my list of problems/questions.
1. I'm getting like a misfire/hesitation at around 1800/2000 rpm, it disaperars if you floor it. EGR valve maybe?
Is it a good idea to blank it off? do you need to get the ECU to forget it there to stop showing fault codes? And will this mess with the DPF

2.In reverse and on light throttle the engine seems harsh as though an engine mount is worn out or the engine is making contact with the body or chassis.
Worse in cold weather! Is this normal? if so I can live with that.

3.Cold starting isn't great! Does the EGR valve effect this?
Its not to bad at the moment but my problem being I have taken the car to the French alps to spend the rest of its life. Winter time can mean -30.
The 4x4 will be put to the test!

4. Has anyone remapped there Sedici?
I have a Transit van that I had remapped by Martyn at Vantuner.com.
It worked a treat and I get loads more MPG.
He can sell me a fault code reader for the Sedici that I can also have 2 remaps on. One for power and one for economy. I can then switch between the 2.
Ant thoughts?

5. removing the DPF! Any thoughts

Thanks in advance for any help. Even though it has its issues its a great little car. I'm really looking forward to trying it out in the snow. I just need to purchase a 2nd set of wheels for its snow tyres.

hi had my 2007 for 2 1/2 year now just done 98000 and still going strong best car I've ever had and I've over 40. I had that flat spot at around 1800 revs so blanked egr off it solved that problem but engine comes on some times for a few days. Can't help with other issues but I'm sure you won't regret getting it. Happy motoring.regards Stephen

Hi Stephen
I'm sure it's going to be great, specially when the snow comes.
I spent a couple of hours yesterday cleaning out the egr valve, where it runs into the throttle body was almost caked solid so it has almost blanked itself off!
Does blanking it off cause problems for the DPF?
I seem to think it stops it doing its regenerations! But I might be imagining I read this.

Hi
Mine still regens as it should but as I say sometimes the engine light comes on for a few days. On the way to get the last M O T it came on but still passed with it on so that's not part of the test so I have learned to live with it

Or check out the Multijet EGR Delete thread on the Panda section. It can be done with a simple circuit that is inserted between the EGR and the MAF wiring. It fools the ECU into thinking that the EGR is working fine, when in fact it's disconnected and stays closed. No more EGR problems!
Far better than blanking with a plate - and easier too.
